El tiro final
El juego de básquet que se realiza en la cancha del liceo está muy concurrido, se enfrentan el equipo de la casa con sus eternas rivales. Las gradas están llenas de estudiantes y profesores, nadie se quiere perder el partido final.
Faltan cinco minutos para terminar y el juego está 56 a 55 ganando las anfitrionas. Teresa, la capitana del equipo anima a sus amigas a darlo todo. La entrenadora pide tiempo para calmar a sus jugadoras y darle las últimas instrucciones.
La emoción se siente en el ambiente, los cuerpos sudorosos corren de un lado a otro de la cancha. Un doble paso y… suena el pito, el arbitro está cantando foul, la capitana ha caído fuertemente al piso, faltando apenas segundos para terminar el juego, que se encuentra empatado. No se puede mantener en pie, una torcedura de tobillo se lo impide. Las lágrimas le caen por el rostro.
Entra tú le dice la entrenadora a María y ella muy nerviosa, llega a la cancha y se dispone a cobrar los tiros libres.
El primer intento pega contra el arco y la pelota sale fuera de la cancha.
Un segundo intento, María con la mirada fija en el arco y los brazos y las manos sosteniendo firmemente la pelota, lanza y esta... limpiamente entra en la malla.
El sonido del pito está indiciando que el partido termino y María que ha jugado solo dos segundos, es levantada en hombros por sus compañeras.
