“So how did everything go, Capt. Ludlow?” bellowed General Ira Hamilton.

Capt. R.E. Ludlow had turned his phone down and put it about three feet away when he saw the caller ID … Gen. Hamilton had hearing loss combined with his high enthusiasm about powerfully helping other veterans, and so he meant well but could get very loud … hence, he was the beloved Bellowing Archangel of veteran finance and business in Lofton County.

Capt. Ludlow made his report, and the general laughed.

“Now, see, this is what I want to hear – positive development after positive development!” he said, and his joy made the entire Ludlow household smile, since it came through loud and clear.

“I ain't about to rain on the parade, either – I like Major Dubois, and I adore his father Monsieur Jean-Luc! Bringing them into the company is a smart move – you make sure to thank Sgt.Trent many times for that!”

“Yes, sir, I have and I will.”

“Remember, Capt. Ludlow – men like us have built things to our liking, but guess what? God is pulling His people together out of every tribe and nation! If those two collide, which one do you think is going to stand?”

“Like I hear Sgt. Trent's son Melvin saying to his friends on the phone: 'You already know what it is!' ”

“Exactly – so, the thing is, we're just gonna get to the right side of the issue now! Wait until you hear who just bought out John Ghent after he had to run across state lines for trying to cheat the wrong people around here!”

“Who?”

“Remember Sgt. Tito Gonzales, who drove the IED gauntlet in 2003 and got all those men out?”

“Yes – yes, of course!”

“Ghent Vending is now Gonzales Vending – he'll be coming through Monday to offer you a fair contract, and of course he is going to be getting his machines into the Veteran's Lodge!”

“Tito Gonzales … the man is a legend!”

“Make sure you offer him a piece of the company worthy of a legend, Ludlow, not just some vendor, now!”

“Yes, sir … I will talk to Sgt. Trent tonight!”
