NUNCA ES TARDE PARA APRENDER
--- ¡Jajajajaja, noooo abuelita! ¡Nadie se saldrá por la pantalla!
Eso le decía Juan de Jesús a Doña Eucaria, cuando ella veía y escuchaba a su hija hablándole a través de la pantalla de la laptop. No estaba acostumbrada a esos aparatos tan sofisticados, y a los avances de la vida. Desde que vino al mundo, había vivido en su campito en las afueras de un pueblo junto a su esposo y sus dos hijos, jamás había salido de allí, pero ellos se fueron a la gran ciudad muy jóvenes, estudiaron, se casaron y formaron sus hogares. Elena, su hija mayor, trajo al mundo a Juan de Jesús siendo soltera, y antes de irse le pidió a sus padres que cuidaran de él mientras ella hallaba una mejoría para su vida.
Con el tiempo lo logró y regresó por el niño, pero ya él estaba acostumbrado a vivir con sus abuelos y no deseaba dejarlos solos. Su mamá lo comprendió y por eso cada vez que venía de visita, le traía algún regalo especial al niño. En este último viaje, le trajo una laptop. El niño estaba muy feliz, ya estaba en la escuela del pueblo y era el mejor de su clase. Allí había aprendido a usar las computadoras y por eso sabía cómo manejar ésta.
Al día siguiente, después que su madre partió de regreso a la ciudad, él y su abuelita hicieron un día de picnic en el patio de su pequeña finca, ella colocó muchas cosas ricas en una cesta y los dos se sentaron a conversar con su madre a través de la laptop. Cada cosa que ella iba viendo, él le explicaba, pero doña Eucaria, asombrada, abría muchísimo sus ojos y su boca, y luego se reían los dos de las ocurrencias de ella. Tenían una relación muy sana, se amaban. Él siempre le decía:
--- Te voy a enseñar muchas cosas abuela, nunca es tarde para aprender.

IT'S NEVER TOO LATE TO LEARN
--- Hahahahaha, noooo granny! No one will go out on the screen!
That's what Juan de Jesús said to Doña Eucaria, when she saw and heard her daughter speaking to her through the laptop screen. She was not used to such sophisticated gadgets, and to the advancements of life. Since she came to the world, she had lived in her little country on the outskirts of a town with her husband and two children, she had never left there, but they went to the big city very young, studied, married and formed their own homes. Elena, her eldest daughter, brought Juan de Jesús into the world while she was single, and before leaving she asked her parents to take care of him while she found an improvement in her life.
She eventually succeeded and returned for the child, but he was already used to living with her grandparents and she did not want to leave them alone. His mother understood and that is why every time she came to visit, she would bring a special gift to the child. On this last trip, she brought him a laptop. The boy was very happy, he was already in the village school and he was the best in his class. There he had learned to use computers and that is why she knew how to handle it.
The next day, after his mother left for the city, he and his grandmother had a picnic on the patio of their small farm, she placed many tasty things in a basket and the two sat down to talk with their mother through the laptop. He explained everything she was seeing, but Dona Eucaria, amazed, opened her eyes and her mouth wide, and then both of them laughed at her occurrences. They had a very healthy relationship, they loved each other. He always told her:
--- I'm going to teach you many things, grandmother, it is never too late to learn.
