As I took a break from Kiyoko-sempai's chibi, an spark of inspiration got me to finally draw this OC that had been around my mind from a month or so.
Her name is Edith, surname undecided. She's a Genshin Impact OC that was born and raised in a noble household from Monstadt.
Her family actually comes from Fontaine, but they moved to Monstadt around three generations or so. Edith knows this, but that's as far as her knowledge goes. This only became important when she grew up.
Her household was pretty wealthy, as her family was known for raising sucessful merchants.
Edith was the odd one, wishing to become a knight of Favonious despite having the skill and wit to make and run a sucessful business. Could have walked on a flowerpath if she wanted, but she didn't.
However, tragedy struck just as the date for her examination to become a trainee knight was about to take place. Her house was attacked and her family- parents, siblings and servants were wiped out overnight.
The whole estate burned.
Edith's mom took her and led her out of the house, she then passed Edith on to her cousin and told them to get lost. Before parting ways, she gave Edith her ring, a family heirloom from her side of the family (which later on became Edith's vision).
Her mom was shot by an arrow not longer after they left. Edith and her cousin were chased and attacked all night, but they finally managed to lose their pursuers near Liyue's border.
Sadly, her cousin passed away due to blood loss, and Edith had to abandone his corpse and get on the move or else her whole family would've died for nothing.
She reached Liyue and after a couple of days, got to Liyue Harbor, snuck inside a ship and went to Sneznaya (because no one would think she would dare flee to such inhospit place.)
(But she did, and suceed.)
Once there, Edith joined the Adventurers Guild and lied low for a while. After a couple of years, people didn't even realize she wasn't a local, which is a feat in itself 'cause freaking Fatui being Fatui-sh.
She then decided it was time to get back to her homeland. Like, it was enough that her friends and the whole of Monstadt thought she was dead for almost a decade, and unlike back then, she was now strong enough to protect herself.
Thus Edith went back to Liyue, just to catch word of the happenings on Monstadt and whatnot to prepare herself for the unknown. But she ended running into another kind of trouble there in Liyue.
Oh well, she was still 'dead', anyways. So she took two years to sort out the unexpected situarion, then head to Mondstadt for good.
Undoubtedly, Edith has had an eventful journey, but she still remains in high spirits.
