Trippy Thursday - Energy Harvester

Here is an alien energy harvester for this #trippythursday by @blacklux

The aliens designed this drone to autonomously walk around and harvest energy crystals in the rough landscapes of their planet.

The radiation from the energy is harmful to the alien's biology but this little harvester is impervious to the radiation and harvest a portion of it to power itself.

The landscape is rough and chaotic. The machine designers had to develop complex algorithms to give the harvester balancing and walking abilities.

Each leg and arm joint also has a powerful gyroscope in it to help keep the harvester balanced.

This is the internal battery with an iridium core that absorbs the excess energy to power the harvester. With each successful harvest the iridium naturally absorbs a portion of it.

Here is the prized crystaline energy that the aliens are after. It is very hot and will melt most metal alloys so the harvester has to use hardened pointy picks to reduce overall exposure to the heat.

Once harvested the energy is stored in the back shell of the harvester and folded into a larger battery system. This system is brought back to a powerplant facility to charge larger batteries to power the alien industrial complexes.

The aliens themselves are fat, soft and lazy from designing machine to do everything for them. They sort of just blob around all day entertaining themselves with electronic gadgets while their machines work non-stop.

Fortunately these aliens live on a planet full of rich atmospheric energy that rains down the energy crystals. Without these the poor aliens would actually have to do some manual labor.

At least the aliens are good at intellectual work designing intricate machines to do their bidding. Soon they will just be brain blobs without mechanical bodies they have designed from scratch.

Happy #trippythursday :-)
