Forest Dwellers I - AI Art and Human Experiences [en/spa]

Has been a while since I have written about my AI experiences. First weeks I was trying many stuff, so had more things to tell. Last times just tried to apply everything that I already learnt I talked about, so not much to say. Instead, I have been doing creative writing. But after a week... or maybe more, practicing what have learnt showed me that some of my assumptions are wrong. There is a generational gap here lol. The AI is more simple minded than I have thought, just needs to be treated like the toddler who it is, not like an adult.

At the beginning, I tried to use a few artists to guide the AI, and the results were bad. In the other hand, the more I have put together, the better. So as I mentioned in another post, concluded that at least half dozen of artist are need to make a palette that works. I was wrong, it is just about be wise and give the AI what it needs. Dump lots of artists was working just because the more artists, the more chances to cover all the AI needs. But as I said, that was wrong. Most of my latest artworks have used just two or three artist as guidance.

So, at end, how does it work? It seems the AI picks some characteristics of the artists that are provided, as base to create own style. I have not clue about which criteria, if there is such thing, to choose the artist traits. So what you need is to provide artists that can cover your needs. As an example, if you need to paint a banana in a table, with a nice line art and vivid colors as well, you could solve it with just a couple of artist. You just need that both painted a banana, of course. It helps to get cohesive results. Anyway, if you want craziness, go ahead using artist non related to the topic of your prompt. But coming back to the topic, you choose a couple of artists, one with awesome colorless art line that you like, and another one with the colors that you like and without line art. Most of the times, as the AI only got one artist that does line art, and only one that use colors, it should take them as reference and give you something that fits with your idea. At the opposite, if you used lots of artists, the AI gonna mix them or just choose colors and styles that are not the ones that you were willing for. Of course, this not always works, because the randomness factor of the AI still huge. But if you insist, trying several times following this logic, you should have success eventually. So as I said at the beginning, you need to give simple options to the AI, as you would do with a toddler haha.

Ha pasado bastante tiempo desde que he contado algo sobre mis experiencias con esta IA. Al principio todo era nuevo y estaba probando muchas cosas distintas, así que tenía mucho más que explicar. Últimamente, tan sólo he estado poniendo en practica todo lo que he aprendido y que ya he ido contando en otras publicaciones. Así que en vez de esto, he estado escribiendo prosas o relatos. Pero después de una semana... o tal vez más, practicando lo que he aprendido me he dado cuenta de que algunas de mis conclusiones son erróneas. Hay una brecha generacional entre la IA y yo lol. La IA necesita que la traten como el niño pequeño que es, no como a un adulto.

Al principio, intenté usar unos pocos artistas, y el resultado fue malo. Por otro lado, cuantos más usaba, mejor era el resultado. Así pues, tal cómo mencioné en otra publicación, llegué la conclusión de que hacen falta al menos media docena de artistas, para conseguir una paleta que de buen resultado. Pero estaba equivocado, sólo se trata de elegir sabiamente y darle a la IA lo que necesita. Usar un montón de artistas estaba funcionando, tan sólo que por cantidad, es más fácil acertar con lo que la IA necesita. Pero cómo he dicho, estaba equivocado. Las imágenes de la mayoría de mis últimas publicaciones, están hechas con sólo dos o tres artistas, como guía para la IA.

Entonces, ¿Cómo funciona esto?. Parece que IA toma algunas características de los artistas que le son dados, para basar en ellos su propio estilo. La verdad es que no tengo ni idea de que criterio sigue la IA, si es que tiene criterio, para elegir esas características. Lo que se necesita es proveer artistas que cubran tus necesidades. Por ejemplo, si necesitas una pintura de un plátano encima de una mesa, se podría conseguir tan sólo con un par de artistas. Lo primero, es que los dos hayan pintado plátanos en sus obras. De todas formas, si quieres ir a la locura, elige siempre artistas que no estén relacionados con el motivo principal de lo que le pidas a la IA. Pero, volviendo a lo que estaba diciendo, uno elige un par de artistas, uno con un delineado hermoso, y sin colores, y otro con colores magníficos y sin delineado. La mayoría de veces la IA, elegirá usar ese delineado y esos colores porqué no tiene más donde elegir. Al contrario de si has usado muchos artistas, con lo que mezclara estilos o elegirá colores y delineados que no son los que querías. De todas formas esto no funciona siempre, ya que IA tiene un factor aleatoriedad muy alto. Pero si un insiste lo suficiente siguiendo esta lógica, la mayoría de veces tendrá éxito. Así que cómo he dicho al principio, es necesario darle pocas opciones a la IA, al igual que harías con un niño pequeño.
