Dear Chessfriends,
in the 7th round of the Hivechess tournament we were 13 players. New this time were a well-known player last seen on Steemchess, @zacherybinx (sirtetris) and @sundram1221 (but the latter played only one game).
It was a 3+1 minutes round, so nothing for deep thinkers. The games were fast, often furious, and occasionally brutal with a quick kill.
After missing in the last round, @jaki01 reappeared and made clear that he is going for the champion: except one draw he won all games - congratulations to the first place! @yazp (zulukill) ended up only a single point behind him and on a well deserved second place (best result for him in Hivechess)! Third was @zacherybinx (sirtetris) who berserked half of his games! After quite a gap, the 4th and 5th places were close together and went to @pereu4ivatel (drakOnb) and @rafaelaquino (ajedrezclub2t).
The remaining tournament points went to myself (6th place, second worst result ever ☹️), @schamangerbert (HerbyW) (7th) and @gingerbyna (Jeanjarrgh) (8th).

Not too much changes today, but due to his great performance @yazp (zulukill) could sneak again closer to the 3th place and in turn @pereu4ivatel (drakOnb) came closer to the second spot, so ranks 2 to 4 are divided by only 5 points - exciting last rounds are guaranteed.
@rafaelaquino (ajedrezclub2t) could gain 2 ranks and is now 7th and @zacherybinx (sirtetris) could propel himself from nowhere to the middle of the field ( 11th rank).
Payouts:
The winner of each round gets 8 points, the second 7,... and the 8th 1 point.
Season 2 goes over 11 rounds and all points are summed up. All Hivechess-related post rewards are pooled and 90% go to the price pool. The winner will get 30% of that price pool, the second 20%, the third 10%, the rest is divided equally among the other players active on Hive or Steem, according to the no. of rounds they have played. So everyone has a chance to get something and the more you play the more you win! Prices are payed out in Hive Tokens.
