Here are a few scenes from my hikes in the Northwoods in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for this #wednesdaywalk by @tattoodjay
I started out on top of the Porcupine Mountains. There are many different trails to lead you through the Porcupine Mountain wilderness.
Then I wend down to the river below. There were quite a few marshes to walk through fortunately there were quite a few
Eventually you end up in the thick forest below the mountain.
All sorts of ferns and plants are thick around the paths in the forest.
There are a few lakes below. These are nice and clear and you can swim in them to cool off after hiking for so long. Though this day it was quite cold so I didn't end up swimming.
Eventually the trail took me to the black river with all sorts of waterfalls along the path on the edge of the river.
Many of these waterfalls are quite large and loud. Some of them have little wooden walkways to look out over the river, then on the other side of the river there is a fully natural pathway with steep inclines.
There is even a spot where you can cross over the river to the other side.
I took this picture from the hanging bridge that crossed over the river. There were interesting swirling bowl shaped formations on the left edge of the waterfall where the water cut through the stone.
That's all for this #wednesdaywalk thanks for looking :-)
