A Queen Anne Home

Our town boast of homes that are impressively attractive in architecture. Some of these homes were built during the period 1860 to 1940. Today I will feature one such home, as well as the flowers I chanced along the way.

In 1990, this beautiful house was awarded the own's Heritage Home Award. It stands as it was built in 1890.

The house was built for Edmund R. Lowe, a director of the bank in town, and he owned it until he died in 1899. Upon which his daughter inherited the property, who later on passed it to her heirs. The house was eventually was acquired by Mr. W.S. Marks in1953. It stayed with that family until finally it was sold to the current owners in 1998.

The house is Queen Anne in style. It has a 48-ft tower with a bell-shaped roof, inset porches, and a cross-ridged main roof. There is a carriage house that matches the house.

The exterior: walls are in and out, "waved" and notched shingles, milled horizontal sidings. Also. it has 16 stained glass windows each with over 100 individual pieces of glass!

This is indeed a nice Queen Anne-style house.

As I walked around the neighborhood, I took photos of flowers.

White.

Purple.

And pink!

So very pretty, but I don't know what kind of flowers they are.

Oh, before I forget... here's the number of steps I made!
