To go and be on the top of a mountain equals to be free. At least that was my feeling when we decided to go meet the sunset and send away the day that evening.
This particular place brings a lot of memories and emotions. Once there was a cable car here that was last operational twenty or perhaps thirty years ago. The last time I used it when I was ten years old with the brother of my grand-mother who first brought me to Vitosha mountain and "implanted" the love for the mountains for me :) He was also a great photographer and generally my two memories of him are going to the mountain next to the capital and developing films and photos in his red room...
Nowadays probably everyone who has been to Bulgaria knows this place as the largest TV broadcasting tower is next to this peak called Kopitoto or "The Hoof", translated to English.
There are three common options to get there - hiking, it would take few hours from the capital; or driving about a half an hour to the TV tower and then having a short walk beside the rusty and dangerous remains of the cable car; or I remember there was a bus line for the TV tower employees in the past, though I am not sure if it is still operational presently. This day, as it was after a regular business day, we chose the fastest get-away option :) Anyway, whatever way you select to go there, you won't regret it as the views and the air are just awesome! So, plan your next evening there :) The place is loved by people who love photography, for the sunsets and the perfect scene for selfies :) Love-birds adore it too, I can tell :)
