Afternoon at Crescencia

It was June of this year (yes, it's been a while already, this has been stuck in my mobile) when my husband and I went to Tagbilaran City for a doctor's appointment for Matti. He was supposed to receive a vaccine but we were actually a little early for it. That vaccine must be given to Matti a month after his first birthday instead.

Since we finished all of our list of tasks for that day, we decided to drop by a cafe near the highway on our way back home. This one that showed on the map was Crescencia Food and Coffee along the road of the town of Baclayon.

This is an old house, ancestral in fact which has been converted into a cafe. According to my mother, they used to go here before, it was not like this yet. It was just a humble and simple eatery for meryienda or snacks.

We went inside and what caught my attention were the plants! Look here are some of them:

love how they placed some cut tree barks here.

A different angle, it looked really nice and aesthetic, what do you think?

It took some time before we could settle down, I mean, I was super busy taking photos and videos, of course, I asked permission first. There were more plants which were used as center table too! Let me share them with you.

Is this a monster plant?

I know we have this type of plant at home too. I never thought these plants would look good with just simple transparent glasses.

If a house or a structure has capiz shell stuff in them, I'd surely find it beautiful and Cresencia had a lot of capiz shell items such as this divider. It's my first time to see a divider with capiz shells, usually, they are only used for windows and lamps.

We finally settled down and I checked their menu first to see what we could have here. They got Filipino snacks on the list and as their name suggests, they have a lot of coffee options. But since it was already around three in the afternoon, we thought we should just have something sweet and some refreshments.

Their menu sits on the counter, there was a staff who gave us two of these menus. After ordering Turon and crepe as well as some fruit shakes, I continued taking more photos while the companions were settling down at the table.

We couldn't quite figure out which table would we want to sit at. We instead took the table which was next to the air conditioner because it was also very hot that afternoon.

The cafe is a bit dark, I could no longer remember if they even had some lights inside, it seemed like they were sourcing the light from their windows which have been covered by white curtains.

I wasn't able to take photos of our order, shameful! When they served the Turon and the crepe, we were surprised they look really appetizing. They both have been sweetened using a traditional sweet syrup made from coconut milk and sugar. It was our first time to try having Turon and crepe with that.

We were able to finish both in less than five minutes. The shakes were just okay though but they use paper straws which were really nice of them.

I guess we will be back with the rest of the family so they can also try their food here.
