Wednesday Walk around the Wild Flower Field

A couple of years ago, a local farmer planted a strip of wild flowers along the edge of his field.

The flowers are sown every year and are a mix of corn flower, corn marigold, corn poppy and many more. They are very popular, especially with photographers. We stopped to have a walk around the field. We met a couple who were celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary so they celebrated visiting the flowers. It was lovely.

It's inspired me to sow some wild flowers in my communal garden. I'm not one for well manicured lawns and gardens. The wilder the better, but I don't think it's as simple as throwing a few seeds on the ground. The flowers were a firm favourite with the bees as well.
