IMG_5683.jpg

This post if for Wednesday walk challenge. The photographs were taken during a trip to the second largest city in the Samara region, to the city of Togliatti, to one of its districts - Shlyuzovoy. The village owes its name to the nearby locks of the Kuibyshevskaya hydroelectric station's shipping canal.

This area is called "a piece of St. Petersburg" because of its architecture. The microdistrict appeared in the 1950s of the last century. The general style of the buildings is unique - they are referred to as Soviet classicism. To date, 18 surviving houses and a kindergarten building are included in the register of architectural monuments of the city of Togliatti
