I was trying to look for some photos I took and saved on my phone and suddenly saw a few ones I am very interested in that I forgot I took during my last visit to Tublay, Benguet, here in the Philippines. So today, I want to take you on a virtual journey to Beacon Hill in Tublay, Benguet.
Last Christmas season, I had the opportunity to visit this new tourist destination with my daughter and some friends. I actually posted a travel blog about it—it was an adventure filled with awe-inspiring landscapes, unique decorations, and a dash of UK-inspired charm. We kicked off our trip with an hour-long drive from the bustling city of Baguio to Tublay, also known as the "City of Pines." On our way, the excitement started to build up. The sight instantly put us in a festive mood—the place was decked out with the most creative and eye-catching decorations. Imagine a blend of Christmas magic and a touch of British flair. It was like stepping into a whimsical wonderland!
But enough about the decorations; let's talk about the trails that led us to the heart of Beacon Hill. As we parked our rented car, I looked up and saw the pretty eco-park, but I couldn't help but notice the vegetable and rice terraces beside it, just a short walk away. I'm no expert, but those terraces looked like a work of art. They resembled carved stairs, and we couldn't quite figure out if the plants sprouting there were just grasses or actual vegetables. Given Benguet's reputation as a supplier of highland vegetables, I myself couldn't help but speculate. Either way, it was fascinating to witness nature's creativity firsthand.
Once we started exploring the trails, we were greeted by breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and hills and lots of pine trees covering them. The air was crisp, and the gentle rustling of leaves created a serene atmosphere. It was pure bliss! We took our time, soaking in the beauty and tranquility of the place. There's something magical about being surrounded by nature's wonders—it makes you appreciate the world we live in.
Now, let me take a moment to appreciate the eco-park at Beacon Hill. It's an oasis of greenery, carefully designed to blend seamlessly with the natural landscape. We strolled along the well-maintained paths, occasionally spotting unique flora and fauna along the way. Benguet's diverse ecosystem never ceases to amaze me! I couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude for the efforts put into preserving this natural paradise. Oh, and let me not forget to mention the friendly locals we encountered during our visit. They were more than happy to share stories and recommendations about the area. Their warmth and hospitality added an extra layer of charm to our experience. It's always heartwarming to connect with people who have a deep love and appreciation for their hometown.
As our adventure at Beacon Hill came to an end, I couldn't help but feel a tinge of sadness. I am a nature lover and the memories we made, the stunning landscapes we witnessed, and the joy we felt will forever be etched in our hearts. It's a place that truly captures the essence of nature's beauty, and we're grateful to have had the opportunity to explore it.
