A Sublime Sunday in a Corn Maze

For this week's #sublimesunday, as inspired by @c0ff33a, we decided to visit an apple orchard outside of the town we live in. Some 40 miles later in the car, we arrived at an area that featured a lot of apples and pumpkins for sale, a haunted house, farm animals, tractor rides, and of course, a corn maze.

This area has been hypothesized in the past (by a clergyman) to be the actual site of the Garden of Eden. I can't speak to that, but the area is beautiful and features rolling hills, bluffs, rivers, streams, and apples.

Genesis musings aside, we enjoyed the pumpkins and tractors, but really enjoyed getting lost and found in a rudimentary corn maze.

Our daughter led the charge as we navigated through the maze; with a couple of wrong turns here and there, we got back on track and managed to make it to the end. As our daughter fearlessly led us through the corn stalks, I hung back a bit to take some photos of the area.

It was a beautiful day beneath the October sun. With temperatures continuing to be in the mid 70Fs, this fall has been highly enjoyable on the weekends. If I recall correctly, last year's fall was miserable; there was an early snow, cold rain, grey skies, and miserable temperatures...almost like we saw the seasons go from summer to winter. This year has been much better, however!

A perfect end to the weekend over here (and hey, even the Packers won somehow today...I'll take it). Thanks for stopping and checking out our adventure. Until next weekend, hoping everyone out there in Hive had a wonderful weekend too...
