Hello, friends especially foodies!

Today mom and I went to our favorite shopping center which was located at the heart of Jakarta. There, we were a bit hungry but it was still at around 10 am something so we thought about having a quick breakfast.. The idea was buying the Indonesian cakes in a cake stall not far from the supermarket entrance than we would have the tea in a beverage stall inside the supermarket.

Here was the cake stall

They sold the Indonesian cakes here... from savory to sweet, they also had bread.

We had bought some cakes then we went inside the supermarket. Among supermarket's racks there was one of the beverage stall...

They sold mostly tea there.

We had ordered then paid. Mom was sitting on the long chair, the only one that they had..

While the seller was making our tea.

And then here was our quick breakfast..

It contained chicken lemper (the one wrapped in banana leaf), cantik manis (if translated it was sweet pretty cake - the white with colourful dots one), vanilla horn and brewed tea (iced green tea).

The taste of our breakfast one by one...

CHICKEN LEMPER

It had savory and sweet flavour. Made from the glutinous rice plus chicken inside. So delicious and it was mom's.

CANTIK MANIS

One of my favorite Indonesian cakes, it had smooth and soft texture. Plus it had sweet flavour, but there was a bit savory flavour cause it contained coconut milk.

VANILLA HORN

Had soft and crunchy pastry skin, inside had vanilla flavour and it was so tasty. This was also one of my favorite.

ICED GREEN TEA

It had authentic flavour of tea, smelled like guan im tea.. if you know, chinese tea one. But it served with iced and sugar. It had sweet flavour and the tea was strong. A good collaboration with our cakes. Right?

And good thing was, without i had known before, these two stalls had some discounts with the online platform.
Look, for the cakes after discount i only paid 20,500 - 7,000 = 13,500 IDR or not even a USD. While the tea was 20,000 - 8,000 = 12,000 IDR or also not even a USD. And if we counted the amount of our breakfast it was just 25,500 IDR or jusr around 1.8 USD. Really affordable for our tasty quick breakfast!
