Todos necesitamos un tiempo para meditar y descansar de vez en cuando. Al menos a mi, me encanta salir de vacaciones y aunque a veces por el exceso de trabajo es muy difícil, este fin de semana nos dimos una escapada a Tampico Tamaulipas.
Lo primero que nos recomendaron visitar fue la laguna del carpintero. Tomamos un taxi seguro en la central y nos dirigimos a nuestro primer paseo. El taxista fue de lo más amable, nos contó el origen de la palabra "Tampico", según él proviene de los vocablos Tam que significa lugar y pico que significa perros por lo que junto significaría "lugar de perros y es que según él los fundadores de ese lugar se encontraron que estaba rodeado de cuerpos de agua, ríos y lagunas en los que abundaban las nutrias a los que los primeros pobladores llamaban perros de agua de los cuales ya no queda ninguno, pero que sin embargo ahora hay una gran cantidad de cocodrilos.
Apenas ahí la palabra cocodrilo me dije -tengo que tomarles al menos una foto-
We all need time to meditate and rest from time to time. I love to go on vacation and although sometimes due to overwork is very difficult, this weekend we took a getaway to Tampico Tamaulipas.
The first thing we were recommended to visit was the carpenter's lagoon. We took a safe taxi at the headquarters and headed for our first ride. The taxi driver was very kind, he told us the origin of the word "Tampico", according to him it comes from the words Tam which means place and pico which means dogs so together it would mean "place of dogs, according to him the founders from that place found that it was surrounded by bodies of water, rivers and lagoons in which otters abounded, which the first settlers called water dogs of which there are no longer any, but that nevertheless now there are a large number of crocodiles.

Lo primero que vimos al salir del taxi fue una rueda de la fortuna blanca en construcción que al contraste con el cielo se veía espectacular.

Desde las bancas de la plaza la vista era hermosa, así es que aprovechamos para descansar un rato mientras observamos a las gaviotas caminar entre la gente de lo más tranquilas.
From the benches in the square the view was beautiful, so we took the opportunity to rest for a while while we watched the seagulls walk among the people.

Ya llevábamos un rato caminando y ningún cocodrilo a la vista, pero como algunos saben, me distraigo con cualquier cosa. Esta vez me llamaron la atención unos arbustos que estaban literalmente en el agua.
We had been walking for a while and no crocodile in sight, but as some of you know, I get distracted by anything. This time I was struck by some bushes that were literally in the water.
Cruzamos la laguna por un gran puente para llegar a un centro de convenciones donde me llamó la atención un pequeño estanque de peces.
We crossed the lagoon over a large bridge to reach a convention center where a small fish pond caught my attention.
Por supuesto que no podía faltar mi fotografía de alto contraste antes de regresar.
Of course I could not miss my high contrast photography before returning.
Estábamos a punto de retirarnos, ya empezaba a oscurecer cuando alguien grito "cocodrilo". Rápidamente me acerque para tomar fotos, desafortunadamente ya estaba algo oscuro y no quise acercarme lo suficiente como para que alcanzará el flash.
We were about to leave, it was already getting dark when someone yelled "crocodile". I quickly got closer to take photos, unfortunately it was already a little dark and I didn't want to get close enough that it will hit the flash.
