Visiting the Thai Food Bazaar

Yesterday in the city we had a Thai Food Bazaar held up at a venue called Blue Sea. It was not a very big affair, a small place with limited crowd at the venue. I was looking forward to experiencing some variety of local Thai stuff but it was a small affair with very limited stuff. There were just some handful of counters with packed food items and 2 live food counters where they were preparing food and serving. By the time we reached one counter had already closed since their food items got over.

I was looking forward to getting some more tips on the life of Thailand and expecting that they would have a counter to promote tourism and share the highlights of their Country along with some pamphlets but there was nothing like it. The Bazaar was organized by local Thai people residing in India, so it was not something where people had come down from Thailand to promote. And with the Covid thing they had to keep it low profile, since they could not have more people coming at the venue.

Anyways it was a nice cozy evening. We were not aware of this, a friend of my hubby invited us, that's how we landed up. Being a Sunday evening it was good to be out of home and catch up with friends.

This was the entrance

This cute little cycle rickshaw was surely an attraction

The surprise of the evening was the live band. The were fun and energetic. Some people even got on the dance floor to shake up a bit :-) I was enjoying the music from my table itself. These guys were college going kids who had their own band. They performed very well and even got the crowd engaged.

There were some local food counters. Ready to eat packets. I picked up 2 Thai Curry Masala packets and my hubby loves the Tom Yum soup so he picked up 2 of those.

The famous Glass noodles were also available at one of the counter.

After this we headed to the live food counter. At this counter they had some grilled type of food, but it was already over.

The next counter had these 4 items being prepared fresh and served. We ordered for one Chicken wrapped in Pandan leaves, it was spicy but tasty. The price was on a higher side, but then at these type of places the prices are always high. The quantity was small, so then we did not bother to eat another dishes, anyways these were the common ones so nothing much fascinating. I thought of ordering some Thai Curry rice for my son and take it home, but then I saw another lady ordering for it and the portion was too less, my son would have needed a minimum of 4 to fill up...hehehe, so then dropped the idea.

All said it was a good evening and I enjoyed myself. The vibes were good and so was the company, the music was lively and the food was tasty. What more do you need, people left the place with happy hearts and smiling faces. All that is needed in these times.
