Pobdaily #5 winners: Keep The Community Clean ♻️

source

Greetings to all active users on Hive. It's been a very rough couple of weeks for me personally which is why the pobdaily challenge announcement was delayed for some weeks now.

This will not be like other past weeks' announcements. It's going to be more like a health talk for the whole pobdaily contestants and other active users who would like to join in on the fun.

FIRSTLY
I would like to brief us a little on the aim of the pobdaily challenge, which is to talk about our daily activities and get to know a little about how each of us spent his or her day in detail including original pictures.

source

This aims to increase more mutual interaction between users and help illustrate the type of social media platform that Hive is all about.

Writing long-form content is one part, while building a real/virtual connection between users can help boost more trust on the Hive blockchain thereby making it more comfortable to use just like we do on other platforms without getting a dim in
return.

Hive is the home of free speech where our voices can be heard without any form of ban or restriction whatsoever unlike other platforms(facebook&instagram)

Let me not bore you much about that.

The pressing issue at hand that needs to be attended to urgently, by every active member in the #pobdaily challenge involves Tag abuse and Plagiarized content which is inappropriate and unacceptable.

source

The stats that I have done manually with pen and paper after visiting each post, shows that we have 281 posts under the pobdaily tags in the last three weeks. Impressive numbers you'll say.

Now here's where things get more interesting...Out of the 281 posts under the tag, 129 of the posts were unique pobdaily posts while 152 other posts do not relate to the pobdaily challenge.

What does this signify?
This means that 54.1% of the total post is Garbage and needs to be thrown into the trash can.

SECONDLY
This is where things go a little bit sideways. The most depressing and disheartening issue I have on my mind right now is plagiarism and fraudulent activities that have been on the rise these past weeks.

source

TBH...I had a rough day on hive earlier today as of the time of writing this post. I was playing detective to a case that involves chasing down the bad guys that has nothing else to do on the blockchain other than stealing other people's content for monetary gains.

source

My first encounter with this issue was from reading a blog by @brittandjosie here talking about how some users' live a fraudulent hive lifestyle.

source

Not long after that, while I was looking out for posts to curate, I got to meet up with @scholaris.pob in a comment section under the #pobdaily tag, where he called out the author @surpretende for plagiarism, which I joined in on it to DV(downvote)the post, this was after making my findings on the post through an SEO plagiarism checker.

This made me stay awhile after curating few posts to start checking posts that might look suspicious, and boom! @kofo account seems to have been consistently abusing the pobdaily tag and never made one post as an entry. He/she doesn't even have an introductory post.

I made the SEO call and found out that it's a plagiarized content which has been posted a month ago by a known #pobdaily abuser @goodimportance. He deleted the post to cover his tracks but that couldn't help.

I made the call on the discord server and he got downvoted to 0pob thanks to @scholaris.pob for taking the necessary steps.

THIRDLY
How does all this concern the pobdaily challenge, well I think it has everything to do with it because all these dumb** imposters are all using the #pobdaily tag which directly points at people participating in the challenge or maybe it's an insider job, maybe it is not? IDK.

WHAT'S NEXT

I had to discuss this with @dwayne16 and we have come to a conclusion that as from this week there will be a little addition to how things are going to be organized under the #pobdaily tag and that will be the use of DV(downvote) on a post that is not about your daily activities i.e blogs that don't relate to the challenge rules as stated here will be considered a direct violation of the challenge rules, and that qualifies you for an automatic disqualification from the contest any further use after this might be considered fraudulent.

PEACE
