Ranting About Africa

Africa is a Continent endowed with with natural resources yet, this resources are not utilize for the development of Africans. African resources has become an enclave point for Western conglomerates. Young Africans embark on perilous journey to Europe to engage in non-existent jobs not because they wish so but circumstances at home forces them. As a proud Pan-African, I'm highly optimistic about the future prospects of the continent yet change would not does not happen in a vacuum. For massive change to happen on the continent, there should to a concerted efforts to;

Change the style of leadership that yields no results. It is about time African youth and leaders change their mindset towards leadership. Many a time, most Africans voted for old leaders who has nothing to lose if the fate of the continent goes bad and as such, continue borrow their way to the grave. The leadership in Africa has become part of Western cabal with the ultimate aim of looting state asserts and sharing the this loot among their inner circles. Thus, it takes a collaborative efforts from the youth to get rid of this old men through the ballots.

Again, Investment should be directed at lifting multitudes out of poverty instead of concentrating wealth in the hands of few individuals. The capitalist idea of free market that makes few people rich while deepening social and economic inequality needs to be replace by an efficient system that redistribute wealth among the populace. Africans government should make room for the private sector to thrive yet, there should be policies to strictly check income distribution where the private sector would not milk and exploit workers and as such, workers of private firms should be made shareholders where they'll not be seen as mere factor of production but rather as a source of value.

Africans must turn to the dream of their founding fathers and aspire to it. The ideas of Kwame Nkrumah, Sekou Toure, Gamel Nasir, Haile Selassie etc. vision of uniting African countries should be revisited and actualize. The artificial divide among African has made it possible for despotic regimes to thrive. Ethnic sensationalism, religious differences are all part the bane that makes to continent looks gloomy.

To Conclude, I believe the the future prospects of the continent is bright yet, it'll take a lot of efforts to actualize it and so, every African should get involved.
