Hello Hivers 💕💘,

In agricultural mindset there are sometimes the negative aspect of farming that always show up that sometimes may also lead to disaster which which cares not taken it will affect the whole Farm settlement or the whole Farm structure. When you plant your crops into the soil you need to ensure that what you plant is very viable and where you plant your seed must also have what is called soil retention ability this simply means that when the rain fall the soil must have the ability to observe the water so that there will be nothing like flooding of any kind. What kills most crop nowadays is that we do not do our research very well before planting the seed even when you want to use the mobile seedbed techniques, you must be ready to do soil testing before planting the whole seed into the soil.

Maize crop especially does not appreciate too much water at all. What I mean is that, whenever you want to plant your miss seed it must not be waterlog or do sometimes some farmer uses waterlog area to cultivate Maize 🌽🌽 and they will survive. This is why I said you must conduct several test before you conclude on what type of seed to plant. There are also some Crops you can plant even inside the waterlogged such as rice, sugarcane. These are some of the crops that are really designed for waterlogged Area of farmland.

The Maize 🌽🌽 planting is common search that so many people do not know that it takes close to 80 to 90% factors that bring about a very good farming season. I hardly use 5 months to plant my mace because we have the hybrid species which takes maximum of 4 months or 4 months and a half to reach it harvesting Period. It is good to do more research all over before you jump and conclude which of the species you want to plant. Farmers are always faced with different types of challenges which surface write after or before the production emerged. Just take for instance this particular type of challenge I had was about waterlog. I took some pictures of how it happened and also how wind affected the Maize farm.

  • When I planted the Maize as you can see it it has not even reach any maturity stage but yet there are challenges around. There were a lot of rainfall that lead to waterlog and as well as falling of the mAize crop.

  • Most times farmers may not be able to predict this even when you have a very good soil structure and formation. But when you have a constant rainfall that seize to stop then you have waterlog coming gradually. That was what happened here. The soil was in a very good condition till we had some few hours of rainfall and the massive wind. It's almost rendered the maze Farm off the track.

The next thing I did as a farmer was to go back and do a little bit of adjustment on the soil so that I'll be able to use it to support the crops individually. All what I did was in vain because the rainfall was massive in conjunction with the wind so it took so long before I could realize how far the damage was.

At this point we still have more weeks to go before the full maturity stage of the Maize come through. This is why sometimes you will not be able to explain what's your eyes are saying on the farm but yet people tends to conclude on their own without even being on the field to face the pinch of the challenge. We need to support our farmers to be able to achieve their aims.

Just as you see it, these are also what damage the wind did that has no remedy other than to cut it off or to leave it this way till it grow up with 50/50 chances of being productive.

I always encourage people to be patient and read in between the lines when going into any type of cropping system. Not only on crop production alone but generally in agriculture. When you talk about keeping of animals as well it's needs a lot of attention, researches, dedication and finance.
