One of the most important composers and producers that Venezuela has had is Hugo Blanco. On a production level, there was a time when he was considered a Midas king of music, as all his productions achieved great success.

He considered himself a city person, an urban composer and for that reason he was always researching the musical genres that were heard in the city. In that order he created what could be called the Venezuelan variant of the Cuban son, called "ritmo orquídea" (orchid rhythm). And it was precisely in this genre that he composed his most widespread song, recorded all over the world with an infinite number of versions: "Moliendo café" (grinding coffee).

Uno de los compositores y productores más importantes que ha tenido Venezuela, es Hugo Blanco. A nivel de producción, hubo un tiempo en que lo consideraban un rey Midas de la música, pues todas sus producciones alcanzaban grandes logros.

Él mismo se consideraba una persona de ciudad, un compositor urbano y por esa razón siempre estuvo investigando los géneros musicales que se escuchaban en la ciudad. En ese orden creó lo que pudiera llamarse la variante venezolana del son cubano, llamada "ritmo orquídea". Y precisamente en ese género compuso su canción más difundida, grabada en todas partes del mundo con infinidad de versiones: "Moliendo café".
