In this post I will be sharing some of the medicinal uses of Cannabis (Marijuana). In some countries Cannabis is illegal and is banned because it is also used as a drug, consumption of which can be harmful to health.
In this post I will be discussing about various medicinal uses and information about Cannabis.
Cannabis is an annual, tall herb which can grow up to 5 m under cultivation. Stem slender of this plant is grooved and finely covered short wooly matted hairs.
Leaves alternate of this plant is palmately divided and are 5 to 20 cm long and toothed.Leaves of this plant are also rough from above and has pale downy beneath. Leaflets of about 7-11 in number.

Flowers of Cannabis plant are dioecious type of flowers and are yellowish green in colour. Male flowers are clustered in short drooping panicles.
The outer part of flower which is consisting the calyx which is (sepals) and corolla (petals) has a single entire leaf enclosing the ovary.
Cannabis plant is widely distributed in the temperate zone of the world. It is also cultivated in the temperate and tropical regions ant the globe, particularly in India for narcotic drugs. Cannabis plant is frequent in all parts of the state and grows up to an elevation of 2500 m above the sea level.
Botanical name of Cannabis plant is Cannabis sativa Linn, O and it belongs to Cannabinaceae family of plants. Cannabis is also known as Marijuana, Bhang, Ganja, Charas.
The small dry one seeded fruits of. this plant is small, rounded and are dark grey in colour.
Part used and Indigenous Uses of Cannabis Plant
Pouring 8-10 drops of its juice in ear provide relief from ear infection and pain.
Paste of its leaves is used to resolve/cure Tumor.
Leaf juice of this plant removes lice and dandruff.
Leaf powder is a useful dressing for Wounds and Sores.
Seed oil of Cannabis plant is used in treatment of gout.
Bhang leaves mixed with other ingredients make sweet drink which is refreshing in summer seasons.
