RANDOM THOUGHTS: WHY NOT ABUNDANCE?

The transatlantic slave trade between the 16th and 19th centuries led to the massive exploitation of the human resources of the African continent. However, the descendants of these slaves are asked to avoid speaking about their history.

The slave trade was followed by colonization which also saw the gross exploitation of the human and natural resources of the African continent. Traces of this supposed parasitic relationship still exist in the semblance of neo-colonization.

There is also the brain drain occurring currently in different parts of Africa, as most of the best minds are migrating to the west. There is an endless number of policies, treaties that are rendering the African continent useless.

Now African countries are being required to explore renewable forms of energy which they cannot afford due to their lack of capital and technology. It is a known fact that fossil fuel was at the heart of the industrial age in which massive wealth and opportunities came to the west. However, African countries have been required to slow down their development to save the planet.

I am not here to point fingers. I simply want to establish a fact, which is: the rich destroy and pillage, while the poor build. It has always been that way since the earliest civilization. While the rich and powerful enjoy a life of luxury, the poor are meant to sacrifice their lives for scraps.

NO MORE SACRIFICES

When I do hear people speak about delayed gratification I often get offended because the supposed 1% do not in any way sacrifice or delay their luxury. On the contrary, they deny other people their luxury through pillaging, brainwashing, etc

Now tell me, who gets tax cuts and bailouts when they tumble the economy on its head? Who loses the value of their savings and investments and has to fend for themselves when things go out? Certainly not the same category of persons. The system is rigged to favour a few.

The rich are not necessarily smart. They just know how to work the system, or better put, the system knows how to work for them. So you can be prudent as you want, and they can be as reckless as they want, but not much will change.

So I want to know why anyone who defends that you sacrifice a portion of your life to enjoy another part of it. It sounds absurd to me, but I won't deny that it works to a certain degree and that’s because of the systems at work. Who is making all these rules and why do we have to abide by them?

WHY NOT ABUNDANCE?

How about we try abundance? How about everyone lives a full and purposeful life without waste. Ironically, most people equate the most necessities of life to waste, which often leads to resentment of other people who choose to live the life they’ve forgone and their only solace is an uncertain future.

I believe there will come a time when people will be free to live the life they want without making unnecessary sacrifices and justifying those sacrifices. I believe there will come a time when people can give without denying themselves the things they want and need.

I believe in a world of abundance, not scarcity.
