Puede alcanzar el metro de altura gracias a sus largos tallos, las flores crecen en racimos y pueden variar en sus colores y van desde los lilas, azules,moradas y blancas con sus bellos y alargados pistilos que en la punta contienen pequeñas particulas de polen.
