Good morning everyone,

This morning I wanna show you my new bag design. It is a new style and I decided to make it in different colors. It is a mini bag with a size of 7 by 8 inches. It also come with a short handle and a longer detachable handle. I used a synthetic skin leather I bought in the market and each yard cost about 1600 naira (almost 4USD) which is quite affordable to some extent. My favourite of them all is the one with nude color and even this morning a neighbour came and saw it and bought it immediately. I'd have to make another to replace it because the color is lovely.

My second favorite is the one with brown color. Looks really love too.

The one with purple color is also really lovely.

MATERIALS USED.

  • Leather of choice
  • Leather-board
  • Suade
  • Bottom pin
  • D rings
  • Adjuster
  • Rope for the short handle
  • Chip-board

PROCESS

  • The first thing I did was to make the pattern for the bag. The measurements I used include: 7 by 8 for the front, 4 by 8 for the bottom, 7 by i for the bag, 2 by 8 for the top and 5.5 by 8 for the flap. After constructing the pattern, I marked and cut it out on the leatherboard and thick black leather and I gummed it with the leather I'd be working it. After that I cut out the rope for the short handle and I used 9 inches length.

Next I stiched the leather that will house the rope and I insert the rope inside. Once that was ready, I fixed the rope at the top part of the main body of the bag and I gummed it using a strong glue.
