A Walk Around Williamthorpe Nature Reserve

On the way to meet a friend for a walk, I spotted the tallest sunflower that I've ever seen.

I had to stop and take a photo as it's my favourite flower. They symbolise many things depending where you live but I love their colour and brightness. I have a sunflower tattoo on my arm in memory of my mum. She was the sun in my life.

After that, we had a walk around Williamthorpe Nature Reserve. I hadn't visited the place for awhile.

I spotted acorns on the oak tree. As children, we used to take the caps off the acorns and use them as toy pipes.

These Blue Mint Beetles covered the plant. Apparently, they like mint plants. They were quite metallic looking in the sun.

It's my so nice that the sun is back after a couple of days of rain. I can't wait for autumn though, when the leaves change colour.
