Greetings to all out Hive friends*,
Me complace compartir con ustedes una nueva experiencia que estoy viviendo hace tres meses. Dos compañeros músicos de la comunidad, Luís Rojas y Leonardo Rodríguez, se acercaron a mí para que conformara junto a ellos un grupo de salsa, y guaracha y allí me desempeño tocando el cuatro y el teclado.
I am pleased to share with you a new experience that I have been living for three months. Two fellow musicians from the community, Luís Rojas and Leonardo Rodríguez, approached me to form a salsa and guaracha band with them, and there I performed playing the cuatro and the keyboard (salsa an guaracha are two popular musical genres in Venezuela).
El grupo actualmente lo conforman 10 integrantes y su nombre surge de las iniciales de cada uno de nosotros.
The band is currently made up of 10 members and their name comes from our names' initials.
En las voces tenemos a mi hijo Edgar Andrés, Jairo e Indra, en la percusión Juan en el timbal, Carlos en la tumbadora, Jonnyer en el bomgo y campana, y en las cuerdas Leonardo en la bandola oriental, Luís en el bajo, Aroldo en el violín y yo en el cuatro y el teclado.
On the vocals we have my son Edgar Andrés, Jairo and Indra, on the percussion Juan on the timpani, Carlos on the tumbadora, Jonnyer on the bomgo and bell, and on the strings Leonardo on the oriental bandola, Luís on the bass, Aroldo on the violin and I on the cuatro and the keyboard.
Esta agrupación surge con la intención de amenizar fiestas, cumpleaños, bodas entre otros espectáculos. Lo hacemos con mucho esfuerzo y un gran cariño porque nos apasiona la música e intentamos mejorar cada día, pues no contamos con los recursos apropiados para el sonido, uno de los parales del micrófono es caseros y con el esfuerzo de cada quien pudimos elaborar otro. Estamos en proceso de construir uno más.
This band was formed with the intention of entertaining parties, birthdays, weddings, among other shows. We do it with great effort and great affection because we are passionate about music and we try to improve every day. Since we do not have the appropriate resources for the sound, one of the microphone stands is homemade and with the effort of each one we were able to develop another. We are in the process of building one more.
Los muchachos de canto se reunieron hoy para practicar los coros y la coreografía para corregir esos pequeños e importantes detalles. Al compañero del violín se le daño una pieza y no pudo participar en el ensayo estamos trabajando en la reparación del mismo o la búsqueda de un trompetista.
The singing boys got together today to practice backing vocals and choreography to correct those important little details. The violin partner had a piece damaged and he could not participate in the rehearsal. We are working on repairing it or looking for a trumpeter.
