Siempre me ha parecido fascinante la manera tan perfecta que tiene de trabajar nuestro organismo, creo que fue una de las cosas que me llevó a estudiar medicina, esa curiosidad por saber y entender todos los procesos que nos permiten estar vivos, y como un pequeño desequilibrio en cualquiera de nuestros sistemas puede generar tantas patologías.
I have always found it fascinating how perfect our body works, I think it was one of the things that led me to study medicine, that curiosity to know and understand all the processes that allow us to be alive, and as a small imbalance in any of our systems it can generate so many pathologies.
Hay personas que miran la medicina como esa carrera que se estudia para sanar a los enfermos, y esto aunque la mayor parte del tiempo es así, porque por alguna extraña razón nadie visita a un doctor para chequearse si no cuando ya no toleran mas el malestar. Pero bueno, la medicina no es solo tratar la dolencia, si no también entender lo normal, lo fisiológico para así poder prevenir muchas enfermedades en el futuro y saber como tratarlas, porque al final del día nuestro cuerpo siempre tiende a buscar hacia el equilibrio, algo que técnicamente denominamos como homeostasis.
There are people who look at medicine as that career that is studied to heal the sick, and this although most of the time it is like that, because for some strange reason no one visits a doctor to be checked if not when they no longer tolerate discomfort. . But hey, medicine is not only treating the ailment, but also understanding the normal, the physiological in order to prevent many diseases in the future and know how to treat them, because at the end of the day our body always tends to seek balance, something we technically call homeostasis.
Llevo algunos días rotando en el servicio de ginecología y obstetricia, y aunque no es de mis rotaciones favoritas, si hay algo que me impresiona y me genera gran emoción es ver el nacimiento de un niño, me parece mágico estar presente en ese momento. Esa primera vez que la madre ve a su hijo, las reacciones de todas al verlo es algo realmente maravilloso, algunas lloran, otras se quedan en silencio, otras se ríen, siempre es impresionante ese primer contacto de la madre con su bebe.
I have been rotating in the gynecology and obstetrics service for a few days, and although it is not one of my favorite rotations, if there is something that impresses me and generates great emotion, it is seeing the birth of a child, it seems magical to be present at that moment. That first time the mother sees her child, the reactions of all when seeing him is something really wonderful, some cry, others remain silent, others laugh, that first contact of the mother with her baby is always impressive.
Aunque en sala de partos no siempre todo es color de rosa, esas veces que el recién nacido no llora y la sala se queda en silencio y todos ven al pediatra tratando de estimular al niño para que lloré, son momentos en los que la tensión aumenta y todos aunque no digan nada por fuera se sienten realmente estresados y llenos de miedo.
Although in the delivery room everything is not always rosy, those times when the newborn does not cry and the room is silent and everyone sees the pediatrician trying to encourage the child to cry, these are moments in which the tension increases and everyone, even if they don't say anything on the outside, feels really stressed and full of fear.
El cuerpo humano es una maquina maravillosa, nos mantiene vivos, hace que pensemos, que lata nuestro corazón, que respiremos, que podamos dar vida, en fin todo su funcionamiento es realmente apasionante para mi, y eso sumado a muchas otras cosas es lo que me hacen entender que elegí la mejor profesión del mundo mundial.
The human body is a wonderful machine, it keeps us alive, it makes us think, it makes our heart beat, that we breathe, that we can give life, in short, all its operation is really exciting for me, and that added to many other things is what They make me understand that I chose the best profession in the world.
