Lockdown | Day 15 - Surprise gift from family

This is the 15th day we have to stay indoors following the city government's "not leaving home" directive. And honestly I'm not sure how much longer we'll have to stay at home. Of course there have been many inconveniences in daily life, and one of the most serious problems is food. Delivery services weren't allowed, so the only way we could get food was through the neighborhood leader. However, the needs of the whole neighborhood are very big so she cannot help everyone. Besides, the food supply is also very limited because the whole city is in lockdown. We had to eat instant noodles for days.

And today we were really surprised to receive a meaningful and timely gift from our family, which is a box full of food. For those who live far from family like us, this gift really means a lot during this difficult time. I know that to collect that much food, our parents had to work very hard. We really don't know what to say other than to thank our parents. That's how I know that family love in Vietnam is still something very deep in the hearts of every Vietnamese.

Okay, let me tell you what I got in the box. We received some vegetables like cucumber, wintermelon, morning glory, cowpea, spinach... Besides we also got 3kg of duck meat and 5kg of tuna. And our parents were also very thoughtful when they sent some essential spices such as salt, cooking oil, fish sauce, soy sauce...and 10kg of rice. As you can see, they have prepared for us the most necessary to continue with the long battle with the pandemic. I am really grateful to receive these items and really hope the pandemic will be over soon so that I can return to my hometown to visit my family.
