Teepee By the Canal - Monomad Challenge

Hail to the Hive!

We are making our way back along the Grand Union Canal Leicester Arm and quite honestly feeling so good. The weather is a bit all over the place but being back in a nomadic rhythm feels amazing. It’s liberating.

It’s back to @millycf1976 and myself doing the locks and finding random mooring spots and soaking up all the freedom, cos that’s how it feels, free. Free to go as far as we want or to not bother at all. To find nice secluded countryside moorings and soak up all the beautiful and interesting surroundings.

We are basically retracing the path we took on our maiden voyage and I keep smiling as it’s familiar and yet different. We are different. We’ve gotten into our boat groove and to come back down this canal agin all the more confident hass been a blast.

These Teepee tents were just being erected when we passed this way in April so I guess they must have worked out well for the pub thats using them. I think they look awesome canalside. I can’t imagine canals and native amaericans in the same local but it’s fun to let your imagination wander as you cruise by at about 3 mph.

One thing is for sure. It is never boring chugging along these canal ways. Nature, architecture, interesting boats and interesting people are everywhere you go. We have so much more to see and explore. Makes me grin thinking of what we will be able to do in the near future and where we will be able to go. 7 months on board and it still feels fresh and new!
