Mudskipper

This is my entry for the #monomad challenge.

The pair of pectoral fins looks like legs that allow it to walk and even jump on land. Although its appearance is similar to other fish, its ability to be outside the water makes it a prominent amphibian fish in mangrove habitats. Those eyes that are above the head have excellent vision. It breathes by holding water in its mouth and gill chambers, and by staying moisturised, it can also breathe through the skin! It can survive very low oxygen levels. It can dig burrows deep enough to keep it away from any disturbance in its habitat.

More than that, it is very sensitive to the surrounding environment so that it is an organism that can be used as a bioindicator of coastal environmental pollution. The coastal areas where Mudskipper abundance and distribution are found is a direct indicator of healthy habitat.
