Bezisten

Bezisten is a covered bazaar in which artisan and trade shops are located. The one in the photos is in Bitola and was built in the 15th century.

The photos show damage from moisture. Fortunately, now the roof has been reconstructed, although not much has been repaired inside. The shops are privately owned and everyone works on their own. Instead of making central air conditioning, each store has an outdoor unit in the common hallway. That’s why it’s as hot in the hallways as it is in hell in the summer. At least they are comfortable in the shops. :D
And the building is protected by law for the protection of monuments!!! Even so, if you ever visit Bitola bezisten is a place you must see.
