outside
crows call
and the air makes the sound of fall
inside
flies fly in steady circles
searching patiently
knowing their time is near
deep, deep inside
I feel the spice of breakfast
the heat of coffee
and the quiet, safe secrets
that will find resolution
and are there to serve me
