Monomad: Beekeeper

This is my entry for the daily #monomad challenge hosted and curated by @monochromes.

Some time ago, I visited a stingless bee (Trigona sp.) farm in the hinterland of North Aceh. Yeah, to maintain my immune system during the recent pandemic, I often consume kelulut honey. In the native language here, the stingless bee's called "kelulut".

There, Aiyub in his work uniform was waiting for me. He is a beekeeper. After greeting for a moment, he immediately took action by opening a beehive box made of wooden planks. After he opened the lid of the box, the bees scattered from the hive.

Using simple equipment, he began to suck honey from the beehive. When I was about to take photos from a few meters away, he said, "Come closer here, don't be afraid because they won't sting you."

Finally, I captured this cool moment without having to be afraid of being stung by them.
