Scooby Noir

It's Halloween, one of my favourite times of the year, and I'm only now just beginning to decorate and enjoy it. October has been a difficult month in the household and now that I've gotten a little bit of time to breath, I felt that it'd be nice to engage in a few of my more enjoyable and simple hobbies: photographing toys. And what better toys to photograph in this dark, scary month than horror monsters and that fright-filled Scooby Doo gang?

I wanted to take a different approach to this group of photos, so I combined a doll house of horror (really) that I have with lego and came up with these. I was also looking to create a vintage 60's horror-noir look with dark shadows and muted colours; personally, I'm pleased with how these turned out.

That photo of Daphne being scared by the ghost and ghost dog was in the doll house's bathroom; the ghost is literally on a lego toilet. Now let the jokes begin!

I'm particularly fond of this photo of Fred, too. It looks like he's in a stage production and about to flee into the crowd.

And Velma. Well, Velma met the wicked witch who happens to be carrying with her a whip. Velma looks almost... pleased... by this.
