Fishing is the main source of livelihood for most people living in coastal areas. Some use large fishing boats that will stay for a couple of days in the mid-ocean just to be sure that they catch tons of fish and bring it back to sell it to the marketplace.

There were some fishermen that were less fortunate and doesn't own a fishing boat, so what they do instead is that they do the sustainable way of fishing the "Ma-masol" a Visayan language that means fishing with the use of a makeshift fishing rod. As you notice these lads were preparing their bait, putting it to the hook. They actually didn't use a stick or a rod at all, the fishing line is directly reeled into an empty can and plastic bottle.
