Hola amantes de las flores, hoy quiero mostrarles un poco más de las bellezas de mi jardín. Un espacio maravilloso cuidado por las manos mágicas de mi madre, una persona maravillosa, con carácter fuerte, pero con magia para hacer crecer las plantas.
Hello flower lovers, today I want to show you a little more of the beauties of my garden. A wonderful space cared for by the magic hands of my mother, a wonderful person, with a strong character, but with magic to make plants grow.
En esta ocasión quiero mostrarles algunas de las bellas orquídeas que han llegado hasta nuestro hogar. Tengo junto a mi madre alguna orquídeas que creo que les gustaría ver a todos por aquí. Porque aunque algunas son muy comunes, otras son muy raras y más en Venezuela, donde a pesar de que hay muchas especies, algunas siguen siendo muy raras de ver a simple vista.
On this occasion I want to show you some of the beautiful orchids that have come to our home. I have with my mother some orchids that I think you all would like to see here. Because although some are very common, others are very rare and even more so in Venezuela, where in spite of the fact that there are many species, some are still very rare to see with the naked eye.
Una bellísima orquídea Epidendrum ciliare. Es una flor muy bella y es muy común, pero no fácil de encontrar, pero sí de divisar fácilmente. Lo más maravilloso es su bello color y que, cuando esta florecida da un aroma maravilloso. Esta es un bello ejemplo de resiliencia que aunque es algo común, no siempre es vista aun por coleccionistas. La encontramos tirada al lado de un basural, quien sabe quién la tendría antes y la abandono sin saber el tesoro que botaba. Es mágica, cuando florece atrae la vista, pero a las 5 pm es la hora mágica, ya que comienza expeler muchísimo olor.
A beautiful orchid Epidendrum ciliare. It is a very beautiful flower and is very common, but not easy to find, but easy to spot. The most wonderful thing is its beautiful color and that, when in bloom, it gives a wonderful scent. This is a beautiful example of resilience that although it is common, it is not always seen even by collectors. We found it lying next to a garbage dump, who knows who had it before and abandoned it without knowing the treasure it was throwing away. It is magical, when it blooms it attracts the eye, but at 5 pm is the magic hour, as it begins to expel a lot of smell.

Tengo otras dos que han florecido con colores radiantes. Que hermoso es poder vivir en un clima cálido y de montaña donde las flores abundan y siempre hay algo hermoso que encontrar en cada jardín si sabes a donde mirar.
I have two others that have bloomed with radiant colors. How beautiful it is to be able to live in a warm mountain climate where flowers abound and there is always something beautiful to be found in every garden if you know where to look.
Esta es una que mi madre cultivo hace unos años cuando una sra amiga de la casa le regalo un hijito. No fue hasta hace un año aproximadamente que la pudimos ver floreciendo. Un espectáculo para la vista, su aroma es dulce pero no penetrante como algunas otras orchidae.
This is a Dendrobium that my mother grew a few years ago when a friend of the house gave her a little son. It wasn't until about a year ago that we were able to see it blooming. A spectacle to behold, its scent is sweet but not penetrating like some other orchids.
Y esta es otra Dendrobium pero morada. No es rara, es muy común de estas zonas, pero llego a nos otros de una forma inesperada. Vino a nosotros un día un chico que estaba vendiendo porrones, y quien sabe de dónde la traería, pero dentro no se percató que estaba la mata, y nos vendió los jarrones. Y bueno, floreció también hace no mucho, pero nos sorprendió el intenso color que nos regaló.
And this is another Dendrobium but purple. It is not rare, it is very common in these areas, but it came to us in an unexpected way. It came to us one day a guy who was selling vases, and who knows where he brought it from, but inside he did not notice the bush, and he sold us the vases. And well, it also bloomed not long ago, but we were surprised by the intense color it gave us.
Como coincidencia hace unos meses un joven paso vendiendo orquídeas muy económicas cerca del negocio, y le compre unas dos Dentrobium y se las regale a mi novia por el día de los enamorados. Ahora en ambas casas están estas maravillas que espero florezcan en la misma temporada.
As a coincidence, a few months ago a young man passed by selling very cheap orchids near the store, and I bought two Dentrobium from him and gave them to my girlfriend for Valentine's Day. Now in both houses there are these marvels that I hope will bloom in the same season.
Esta si es una rareza, pero más raro es como llego a nuestro hogar, ya que nosotros tampoco sabemos. Un día, a unos meses de iniciar la pandemia del covid yo estaba limpiando un poco el terreno de la casa y en la pata del tronco de un árbol de guayabas rojas, ahí estaba florecida. Una sorpresa muy grata ese día. En estos momento olvide el género orchidae de esta increíble belleza, pero un amigo del Jardín Botánico de Caracas me menciono un día que era una orquídea de colección ya que es arbórea y no tan común.
This one is a rarity, but even rarer is how it came to our home, since we don't know either. One day, a few months after the beginning of the covid pandemic, I was cleaning the grounds of the house and on the trunk leg of a red guava tree, there it was in bloom. A very pleasant surprise that day. At this moment I forget the genus orchidae of this incredible beauty, but a friend of the Botanical Garden of Caracas mentioned to me one day that it was a collection orchid since it is arboreal and not so common.
