Two Strikes - An idea with a lot of potential [EN/ES]

ENGLISH V2.gif

I think this is one of those games that at least 80-85% of people will not have heard of it, it is still in a very early stage of development and there has not been much information about its future release, however, what we do have is a very small demo that allows us to explore a little gameplay that will have this title, today I want to show you a little of Two Strikes.

1.gif

This title is intended to be a fighting game, where the characters will be samurai with their respective katanas and combat styles, however, the concept that takes two strike is a little different, as its name indicates the fights will end when any of the players hit two quick hits or a single charged and accurate blow.

2

At first it may seem silly, I mean, just two strikes, what's the point? But after trying it for a while the idea is not as crazy as it seems, as I mentioned before you will have two types of attacks, fast and heavy, but in addition to this you will have a block that will decide the duration of the game and the winner, every attack can be blocked and cause a small stagger in the enemy, which can be used to counterattack.

3

Basically, this mechanic makes it more of a strategy game than a fighting game, since if you decide to attack first without thinking it through, the enemy can block you and take advantage of the opportunity to finish you off, remember that it only takes a few hits.

4

It is still too early to give a verdict on whether this mechanic will be a success or a failure, in the demo available we only have two characters to try, each one has a characteristic style that gives dynamism to the fights, for example, one is a little faster when attacking, but the other has a higher range in his sword. It is to be expected that as the game progresses there will be many more characters available with personal characteristics that will give variety to the games.

5

Personally it seems to me a pretty good concept and I would like to try in its final version, the demo despite being very basic has a pretty good design of the characters, as well as the animations of these, which makes each cut and bleeding look fluid and enjoyable, in my opinion all this speaks very well of this title and makes me look forward to the final product.
