Riptide, a game released 4 years ago and which I come to learn of its existence in the present time, I'm not much of racing or sports games, but the fact that it has jet skis in my opinion gives it some originality, so I decided to try it and see how it is.
The first thing we must do when entering the game is to choose our "protagonist" racer, once selected we will automatically go to a short tutorial where they will explain the basic controls of the game.
In games like these the story is completely secondary and in some cases nonexistent, there is no depth or background, so I will not focus on it. We will start by completing different races which will help us forge our reputation, as long as we arrive in the top positions, these races will take place on modified jet skis.
Being modified we will be able to run a kind of nitro from time to time, which will recharge performing different types of stunts in the air, on land and through certain debris that will give us momentum.
We will have the possibility to customize our jet ski and our suit as we like, as well as we will be able to improve it, either by increasing the speed, improving how it takes the curves, how long the nitro lasts, and many more things. All this we will do through the money we get by completing our races.
There will also be several new tricks to learn which will cost skill points, these points will be obtained by leveling up through the experience received from the races. Depending on your position, time and tricks performed during the race, you will get more or less amount of experience.
In conclusion, Riptide is a completely casual game but it's still fun, driving the bike through the water feels great and it's fun to perform some stunts when given the chance. It is not common to see a title based on jet skis, so I find the idea quite original and although graphically it is not spectacular, let's keep in mind that it came out in 2016 so I think it's pretty good.
This type of games in my opinion are made to play with your friends, create a couple of races and challenge each other, I think that's where they shine the most.

Riptide, un juego lanzado hace 4 años y del cual vengo a enterarme de su existencia en la época actual, no soy mucho de juegos de carreras o deportes, pero el hecho de que cuente con motos de agua a mi parecer le da cierta originalidad, por lo que decidí probarlo y ver que tal esta.
Lo primero que deberemos hacer al entrar al juego es elegir a nuestro corredor “protagonista”, una vez seleccionado pasaremos automáticamente a un tutorial corto donde nos explicaran los controles básicos del juego.
En juegos como estos la historia es completamente secundaria y en algunos casos inexistente, no existe una profundidad o un trasfondo, por lo que no me enfocare en ella. Comenzaremos completando distintas carreras las cuales nos ayudaran a forjar nuestra reputación, siempre y cuando lleguemos en los primeros puestos, estas carreras se llevaran a cabo en motos de agua modificadas.
Al estar modificadas podremos ejecutar una especie de nitro de vez en cuando, el cual recargaremos realizando diferentes tipos de acrobacias en el aire, por tierra y a través de ciertos escombros que nos darán impulso.
Tendremos la posibilidad de personalizar nuestra moto de agua y nuestro traje a gusto, así como también podremos mejorarla, ya sea aumentando la velocidad, mejorando el cómo toma las curvas, lo que dura el nitro, y muchas más cosas. Todo esto lo haremos mediante el dinero que vayamos obteniendo al completar nuestras carreras.
También habrá varios trucos nuevos para aprender los cuales costaran puntos de habilidad, estos puntos los obtendremos al subir de nivel mediante la experiencia recibida de las carreras. Dependiendo de tu posición, tiempo y trucos realizados durante la carrera, obtendrás más o menos cantidad de experiencia.
En conclusión, Riptide es un juego completamente casual pero no deja de ser divertido, el manejar la moto a través del agua se siente muy bien y es divertido realizar alguna que otra acrobacia cuando se nos da la oportunidad. No es común ver un título basado en motos de agua, por lo que me parece bastante original la idea y aunque gráficamente no es espectacular, tengamos en cuenta que salió en 2016 por lo que creo está bastante bien.
Este tipo de juegos a mi parecer están hechos para jugarlo junto a tus amigos, crear un par de carreras y retarse entre ustedes, considero que es donde más brillan.
