Hola Gamers, un placer escribir nuevamente para todos ustedes, así como he escrito anteriormente hemos configurado un emulador de Nintendo 64 en un Xbox Classic. Hace unos días escribí sobre la razón de porque a pesar de tener un Nintendo 64 funcional decidimos instalar este emulador para jugar básicamente las cintas que tenemos en nuestra colección. En esta oportunidad decidimos jugar un videojuego que marcó mi infancia y que siempre me ha gustado, Pokemon Stadium 2 que a pesar de que se puede jugar en el N64 en modo batallas queríamos probarlo en el emulador.
Sobre este videojuego he escrito varias veces, la verdad es uno de mis juegos favoritos desde que comenzó la saga de Pokemon en la N64 con Pokemon Stadium, he escrito tanto desde mi opinión sobre las batallas como el modo de minijuegos de ambas versiones que tuve en la Nintendo 64.
Anteriormente estuvimos probando Super Smash Bros en este emulador para Xbox, observamos varios detalles en cuanto a los gráficos, errores puntuales que no arruinan la experiencia como el pequeño corte de orejas que tenía Pikachu, por esa razón queríamos observar si Pokemon Stadium presentaba errores en los gráficos y si el rendimiento en FPS es bueno y tenemos una experiencia parecida al jugarlo en este emulador en comparación a su consola original.
Abriendo el videojuego en el emulador lo noto un poco acelerado en el intro, solamente ese detalle al principio, con una mucha sensibilidad en las palancas. En mi caso deseaba jugar una batalla típica de 6 pokemones con mi hermano, así que decidimos jugar para probar el rendimiento y saber si existía algún error en los gráficos. Cuando entramos notamos el primer error pero no era algo que nos quitara las ganas de jugar.
Eligiendo a los Pokemones que vamos a utilizar, el emulador cambia la imagen o el nombre del pokemon en algunas secciones, normalmente al presionar R o L en el control de N64 podemos cambiar el orden en que los pokemones aparecen en la lista, cambiarlos de orden alfabetico o por evoluciones puede ayudar a buscar más rápido pero acá nos aparecía el error, en la siguiente imagen notaran que bajo la imagen de Pikachu aparece el nombre de un pokemon totalmente diferente como Paras, así mismo con otros pokemones de la lista.
La verdad este pequeño error no nos quitó las ganas de jugar, elegimos ambos elegimos los pokemones, para hacerlo más equilibrado decidí salir de la habitación mientras mi hermano elegía sus pokemones, luego entraría yo para elegir los míos así no tendría la ventaja de elegir pokemones según la elección del adversario, acá está la lista de los pokemones seleccionados en esta oportunidad.
Este caso soy el P3 y al comenzar la batalla notamos que tiene un buen rendimiento en FPS para jugar, la imagen es de calidad incluso en el movimiento de los pokemones al no estar atacando, la verdad me preocupaba este detalle pero fue una buena impresión, el único detalle que notamos es que el cielo simplemente no aparece, en su lugar se ve de color negro, bueno solución simple, imaginamos que es de noche y seguimos jugando.
Mi primer Pokemon es Hipno contra su Umbreon, a pesar de tener la desventaja logro hacer el ataque hipnosis y dejo a Umbreon durmiendo la siesta por lo que no tiene otra salida que retirarlo, noté que el ataque Hipnosis si era algo diferente pero tampoco era una diferencia muy notable.
Su siguiente pokemon es Vaporeon un pokemon de agua por lo cual decido utilizar hipnosis nuevamente para dejarlo dormido y retirar a Hipno para elegir a Ivysaur un pokemon planta, me encanta elegir a este pokemon debido a que tiene la habilidad de “día soleado”, aprovechando que vaporeon está durmiendo realizo ese ataque, al tener el día soleado puedo usar el rayo solar inmediatamente sin tener que esperar a cargar el rayo, estratégicamente es una gran ventaja tener un pokemon con ambas habilidades, al ser un pokemon de agua es vencido inmediatamente. Este rayo solar es idéntico como en el N64, sin embargo, el día solar si tiene un aspecto algo extraño pero no afecta en nada a la imagen.
Ya siguiendo con la batalla luego de aplicar estrategias que hacia hace varios años atrás noto algo en Charmeleon, este pokemon me agrada elegirlo debido a que posee un ataque de fuego poderoso y además tiene la habilidad de escavar un agujero y atacar bajo tierra por lo cual es efectivo incluso contra los pokemones de su mismo tipo, en el caso visual del emulador su cola aparece con un fuego negro, algo extraño pero notamos que incluso se ve bien con ese fuego negro en la cola.
Luego de una ardua batalla con todos sus pokemones y cuando solamente cuenta con Jolteon y Flareon un pokemon eléctrico y uno tipo fuego decido utilizar uno de los pokemones que era uno de los más elegidos cuando quería realizar una batalla pokemon es Graveler, este pokemon tipo roca tiene ataques muy buenos además de una muy buena resistencia y fuerza, dedico utilizar contra Jolteon el ataque de terremoto que lo deja fuera de combate al instante.
Para cerrar con broche de oro contra Flareon utilizo otro de los ataques que me hacen elegir a Graveler como uno de esos pokemones a considerar en las batallas, autodestrucción, además, quería ver como el emulador reflejaba este ataque de explosión, aunque le faltan algunos detalles este ataque no me decepcionó, me pareció bastante convincente aunque tiene una menor calidad que en el original, sin embargo, no puedo pedirle una total calidad a este emulador.
AL final de la batalla notaremos que en la gráfica donde deberían aparecer todos los pokemones utilizados no aparece nada, otro error pero que definitivamente no es relevante en comparación con la emoción de jugar nuevamente a las batallas pokemon.
Algo bastante interesante de este videojuego es que el rendimiento fue óptimo, no bajo la velocidad en cuanto a FPS en ningún momento y pudimos tener la misma experiencia que en la N64, claro con algunos errores en la imagen pero que no afectan para nada a la jugabilidad. Creo que es el videojuego que por lo momentos nos parece de mejor rendimiento que hemos jugado desde la Xbox Classic con juegos de la Nintendo 64, videojuegos como Super Smash Bros por momentos se queda paralizado y 007 Goldeneye simplemente no lo hemos logrado correr en la Xbox por lo cual jugar Pokemon Stadium 2 significa un gran logro teniendo en cuenta todos los aspectos que he explicado en este post.
He disfrutado bastante utilizar este emulador, revisando esos videojuegos que aunque tengo todavía no los había podido jugar debido al daño en los controles de la N64, me parece una agradable experiencia y seguiré revisando algunos videojuegos para la Nintendo 64 con emulador para la Xbox. A few days ago I wrote about the reason why despite having a functional Nintendo 64 we decided to install this emulator to basically play the tapes we have in our collection. This time we decided to play a video game that marked my childhood and that I have always liked, Pokemon Stadium 2 that even though it can be played on the N64 in battle mode we wanted to try it on the emulator.
About this video game I have written several times, the truth is one of my favorite games since the Pokemon saga began on the N64 with Pokemon Stadium, I have written both from my opinion about the battles and the mini-games mode of both versions that I had on the Nintendo 64.
Previously we were testing in the Super Smash Bros Emulator in this emulator for Xbox, we observed several details regarding the graphics, punctual errors that do not ruin the experience as the small cut of ears that had Pikachu, for that reason we wanted to observe if Pokemon Stadium presented errors in the graphics and if the performance in FPS is good and we have a similar experience when playing it in this emulator compared to its original console.
Opening the video game in the emulator I notice it a little accelerated in the intro, only that detail at the beginning, with a lot of sensitivity in the levers. In my case I wanted to play a typical battle of 6 pokemon with my brother, so we decided to play to test the performance and see if there was any error in the graphics. When we entered we noticed the first error but it was not something that took away our desire to play.
Choosing the Pokemon that we are going to use, the emulator changes the image or the name of the pokemon in some sections, normally by pressing R or L on the N64 controller we can change the order in which the pokemon appear in the list, changing them in alphabetical order or by evolutions can help us to search faster but here the error appeared, in the following image you will notice that under the image of Pikachu appears the name of a totally different pokemon like Paras, likewise with other pokemon in the list.
The truth is that this small mistake did not take away our desire to play, we both chose the pokemon, to make it more balanced I decided to leave the room while my brother chose his pokemon, then I would enter to choose mine so I would not have the advantage of choosing pokemon according to the opponent's choice, here is the list of the pokemon selected in this opportunity.
In this case I am the P3 and at the beginning of the battle we noticed that it has a good performance in FPS to play, the image is of quality even in the movement of the pokemon when they are not attacking, the truth I was worried about this detail but it was a good impression, the only detail we noticed is that the sky just does not appear, instead it looks black, well simple solution, we imagine that it is night and continue playing.
My first Pokemon is Hypno against his Umbreon, despite having the disadvantage I manage to make the hypnosis attack and leave Umbreon napping so it has no other way out than to remove it, I noticed that the Hypnosis attack if it was something different but it was not a very noticeable difference.
His next pokemon is Vaporeon a water pokemon so I decide to use hypnosis again to let him sleep and remove Hypno to choose Ivysaur a plant pokemon, I love to choose this pokemon because it has the ability of "sunny day", taking advantage that Vaporeon is sleeping I perform this attack, having the sunny day I can use the solar ray immediately without having to wait to charge the ray, strategically it is a great advantage to have a pokemon with both abilities, being a water pokemon it is defeated immediately. This sun ray is identical as in the N64, however, the sunny day does look a bit strange but it doesn't affect the image at all.
Following the battle after applying strategies that I did several years ago I notice something in Charmeleon, this pokemon I like to choose it because it has a powerful fire attack and also has the ability to dig a hole and attack underground so it is effective even against pokemon of the same type, in the visual case of the emulator its tail appears with a black fire, something strange but we notice that it even looks good with that black fire in the tail.
After an arduous battle with all its pokemon and when it only has Jolteon and Flareon, an electric pokemon and a fire type pokemon I decide to use one of the pokemon that was one of the most chosen when I wanted to do a pokemon battle is Graveler, this rock type pokemon has very good attacks besides a very good resistance and strength, I dedicate to use against Jolteon the earthquake attack that leaves it out of combat instantly.
To close with a flourish against Flareon I use another of the attacks that make me choose Graveler as one of those pokemon to consider in battles, self-destruction, in addition, I wanted to see how the emulator reflected this explosion attack, although it lacks some details this attack did not disappoint me, I found it quite convincing although it has a lower quality than in the original, however, I can not ask for a total quality to this emulator.
At the end of the battle we will notice that in the graph where all the pokemon used should appear nothing appears, another error but definitely not relevant compared to the excitement of playing pokemon battles again.
Something quite interesting about this game is that the performance was optimal, it did not slow down in terms of FPS at any time and we could have the same experience as in the N64, of course with some errors in the image but that do not affect the gameplay at all. I think it is the video game that at the moment seems to us the best performance we have played since the Xbox Classic with Nintendo 64 games, games like Super Smash Bros at times is paralyzed and 007 Goldeneye just have not managed to run on the Xbox so playing Pokemon Stadium 2 is a great achievement taking into account all the aspects I have explained in this post.
I have quite enjoyed using this emulator, reviewing those video games that even though I have them I had not yet been able to play due to the damage in the N64 controls, I find it a nice experience and I will continue reviewing some video games for the Nintendo 64 with emulator for the Xbox.
