Hola Gamers, un placer escribir nuevamente para todos ustedes, esta ocasión paso de hablar sobre un videojuego en concreto para hablarles sobre mi experiencia sobre una consola que a pesar de no ser mía fue una parte importante para jugarla con amigos y familiares. Hoy quiero hablarle de la consola que ha conquistado el corazón de muchos jugadores alrededor del mundo, la Ps2 o PlayStation 2.
Esta consola desarrollada por Sony Computer Entertainment fue lanzada oficialmente en el año 2000, sin embargo, es algo poco común en mi país obtener una consola de última generación recién sacada del horno por lo menos para una gran parte de la población, en muchos casos tenemos que ver pasar los años y que el precio baje considerablemente para poder adquirir una consola. Esta situación es acentuada desde hace años aunque para principios del nuevo milenio se podía realizar estos gastos en consolas. En mi caso yo nunca tuve la PlayStation 2 hasta muchos años después de su lanzamiento oficial, supuesto cuando se adquiere esa una nueva consola se juega todo lo posible hasta que se nos derritan los ojos y no importa si es la más actualizada o no, en mi opinión en consolas de otra época podemos conseguir videojuegos que nos causen mucha emoción aun hoy.
Mi caso tal vez es un poco diferente al resto de jugadores de mi región y he querido apartar algo de tiempo para escribir un poco sobre esa experiencia. Luego de tener las consolas de moda de finales de los 90´s la PSX y la N64, lo lógico era saltar a las nuevas consolas de la empresas Nintendo o Sony al menos la actualización de consola de una de esas empresas que llevaban el liderazgo de la industria, pero debo decir que no fue ese mi caso, luego de un largo tiempo disfrutando de la PSX y la N64 poco a poco estas consolas se fueron desgastando, los años no pasaban en vano. En el caso de la PSX el lector de CD y en caso de la Nintendo 64 los controles.
La primera consola en dejar de funcionar fue la PSX, pero en lugar de rogarles a mis padres que me compraran una PS2 decidí esperar, quizás me negaron en varias oportunidades la oportunidad de comprar la PS2 pero en mi mente prefería la consola de un nuevo competidor, la XBOX de Microsoft. En realidad tuve en mis manos la XBOX y la XBOX 360 antes de la PS2, esto es lo que puede parecer extraño en nuestro caso pero todo esto es causado por esas fallas que generaban las consolas de Microsoft el riesgo de que al pasar algún tiempo simplemente el aparato dejara de funcionar, un ejemplo son las temidas luces de la muerte o luces rojas.
Cuando todas las consolas se habían dañado y en mi familia nos resignamos a solo jugar videojuegos por computadora, sin embargo, al tiempo le otorgaron a mi hermano un regalo muy especial por el cual volvíamos al mundo de las consolas aunque con un modelo más antiguo a los que teníamos o de las que estábamos acostumbrados en ese momento.
Nuestra PS2
Algo que tengo que mencionar es que mi hermano y yo compartimos nuestras consolas, yo he tenido más consolas debido a que soy el mayor, él siendo 10 años más joven que yo ha recibido menos cantidad de consolas, sin embargo, a pesar de que somos de diferentes edades siempre ha estado en nosotros y en nuestros primos y amigos la pasión por los videojuegos. Es por esa razón que cuando a él le compran la PS2 se convierte automáticamente en “nuestra PS2”.
A pesar de esta consola evidentemente es más antigua y no tiene las capacidades de la XBOX 360 no se negó en recibirla, todo lo contrario a ambos nos emocionaba jugar nuevamente en una consola, evidentemente existía una enorme diferencia entre ambas en ese momento, una encendía y la otra no. Muchos les parecería aburrido jugar con una PS2 luego de haber jugado con una XBOX 360 equivalente a la PS3, pero ese no era nuestro caso, jugábamos igual y teníamos buenos momentos tanto con amigos como con nuestros primos.
Uno de los videojuegos que más jugué en esta consola fue PES, un videojuego que he jugado mucho tiempo y que tengo lo reservado para hablar más adelante en esta comunidad, al principio confieso que me costó adaptarme nuevamente a los gráficos de la PS2 luego de haber jugado FIFA en la Xbox 360, sobre todo el movimiento de los jugadores y la mecánica de juego, sin embargo, son de esas típicos detalles que se olvidan cuando competimos con un amigo y solo vale ganar.
Normalmente juego FIFA en el modo carrera, en el caso de la Ps2 en la cual tenía PES solo lo jugaba en multijugador cuando invitaba a los amigos a jugar, creo que PES es de esos videojuegos obligatorios tanto para PS2 como para XBOX, al menos lo es en mi región. Además de jugar PES también existen una gran cantidad de videojuegos memorables para la PS2, pero en lo particular pienso que futbol o soccer como se conoce en Estados Unidos es de esos juegos en los cuales en mi región se juegan siempre y que muchos disfrutamos solos o acompañados.
Memory Card
A diferencia de la primera consola de Sony que tuve en mi posesión esta tenía una Memory Card, le dije a mi hermano que cuidara bastante esa pequeña tarjeta, en mis primeros pasos como gamer había sufrido mucho por no contar con una Memory Card por lo cual si quería completar un videojuego, debía dejar encendida la consola hasta completar el videojuego, muchos de los títulos que tenia de niño para la PSX no los pude completar por no contar con esta pequeña tarjeta para guardar las partidas.
Actualidad
Esta consola todavía funciona e incluso tenemos algunos videojuegos memorables en ella, las computadoras se apoderaron del protagonismo con sus emuladores, pero todavía tenemos intacta esa consola que es parte de la historia de la industria de los videojuegos, incluso para esos emuladores en computadora utilizamos un pequeño adaptador para jugar con los controles de la PS2. Ahora además de esta consola tenemos una PS3 que muy pronto apartaré tiempo para hablar de ella, por lo pronto puedo decir que la PS2 es parte de la memoria familiar y de muchos jugadores alrededor del mundo, es de esos aparatos que nos regalaron muchas sonrisas, momentos de alegría y a veces enojo por no completar un videojuego pero recuerdos muy valiosos para un Gamer.

After having the fashionable consoles of the late 90's the PSX and the N64, the logical thing was to jump to the new consoles from Nintendo or Sony, at least the console update of one of those companies that were leading the industry, but I must say that was not my case, after a long time enjoying the PSX and the N64 little by little these consoles were wearing out, the years did not pass in vain. Our PS2
Something I have to mention is that my brother and I share our consoles, I have had more consoles because I am the oldest, he being 10 years younger than me has received less consoles, however, although we are of different ages has always been in us and in our cousins and friends the passion for video games. It is for that reason that when he gets the PS2 it automatically becomes "our PS2".

I usually play FIFA in career mode, in the case of the Ps2 in which I had PES I only played it in multiplayer when I invited friends to play, I think PES is one of those mandatory video games for both PS2 and XBOX, at least it is in my region. Besides playing PES there are also a lot of memorable video games for the PS2, but in particular I think that soccer or soccer as it is known in the United States is one of those games that in my region are always played and that many of us enjoy alone or with friends.
Memory Card
Unlike the first Sony console that I had in my possession, this one had a Memory Card, I told my brother to take good care of that little card, in my first steps as a gamer I had suffered a lot for not having a Memory Card so if I wanted to complete a video game, I had to leave the console on until the video game was completed, many of the titles I had as a child for the PSX I could not complete them for not having this little card to save the games.
Actuality
This console still works and we even have some memorable video games on it, computers took over the limelight with their emulators, but we still have intact this console that is part of the history of the video game industry, even for those emulators on computer we use a small adapter to play with the PS2 controls.
