No, this is not a mistake. And I postponed the story of this trip for a very long time because of such contradictory, diametrical feelings. I will say in advance that I got all the negative emotions through my own fault.
All right, first thing's first.
Ні, це не помилка. І я дуже довго відкладала розповідь про цю поїздку саме через такі суперечливі, діаметральні почуття. Скажу наперед, що всі непозитивні емоції я отримала з власної вини.
Але давайте по порядку.
Last year, in September my husband and I decided to test a new car in a one-day outing. We don't like to stay in one place, even on rest, so that day we sketched on the map few different points that we're going to see.
The weather was great, the mood too. Our next attraction was a forest lake, or lakes, with a very beautiful color of sand and water. Trying to find him, we came across some interesting place. It seemed to me that a couple of trucks, which had overtaken us earlier, were going there.
У вересні минулого року нам з чоловіком захотілось обкатати нову машину в якійсь одноденній вилазці на природу. Ми не любимо сидіти на одному місці, навіть коли відпочиваємо, тому на той день ми накидали на карту багато різних точок, які хотіли подивитись.
Погода була пречудова, настрій теж. Нашою черговою атракцією було лісове озеро, чи озера, з дуже гарним кольором піску і води. Намагаючись його знайти, ми натрапили на якесь цікаве місце. Мені здалося, що це туди прямували пара грузовиків, які нас раніше обігнали.
We dropped the car on the roadside, we walked on a rural forest road. There was a sign on the sidewalk "No pass" or like that. We stopped, wondering what to do. I really wanted to see the lake. Why can it can be banned from seeing? The sign was covered with dust, may no longer be relevant, and no one can be seen anywhere. So we went further. We decided that if we saw the security, we would ask permission or go back.
Залишивши машину на узбіччі, ми пішли пішки по грунтовій дорозі. На узбіччі стояла табличка "Проїзд заборонений" чи щось таке. Ми зупинились, гадаючи, що робити. Дуже хотілось побачити озеро. Чому до нього може бути заборонений проїзд? Табличка була вкрита пилюкою, можливо вже не актуальна, а навкого нікого ніде не видно. То ж ми пішли далі. Вирішили, що якщо побачимо охорону, то запитаємо дозволу або повернемось.
It was a hill behind the trees, instead of the lake. We agreed to climb it, and there saw it - the lake! It was very unusual. I used to go down to the lake, and here you had to climb 5 meters or so.

За деревами замість озера був пагорб. Вирішили піднятись на нього, і побачили - озеро! Це було дуже незвично. Зазвичай до озера спускаєшся униз, а тут довелось підніматись метрів на 5.

The first thing that caught my eye was the color of the water. In the distance, it seemed blue, even dark blue. But near the shore it shone with unusual and unnatural shades, as for the lake.
Перше, що впало в око, був колір води. На відстані вона здавалась синьою, навіть темно синьою. Але біля берега вона переливалась незвичними і неприродніми для озера відтінками.
My hubby was the first dared to come closer. I would not be surprised if the soles of sneakers smoked or crumbled from contact with an unknown substance :) Fortunately, this did not happen.
Чоловік першим наважився підійти ближче. Я б не здивувалась, якби підошви кросівок зітліли чи розсипались від контакту з невідомою речовиною :) На щастя, цього не сталося.
Then I also got brave enough to approach to the water. I was looking through the camera's viewfinder on the color of the water when I felt my feet's getting wet. They got stucked in the sand from which this water (that creepy water!) came out!
Потім я теж осміліла і підійшла до води. Я дивилась у viewfinder фотокамери на колір води, коли відчула, що мої ноги мокрі. Вони погрузли у пісок, з якого виступила ця вода!
I got scared and quickly climbed higher to the harder shore. Sneakers seem to be fine, legs too. We decided to walk a little along the shore towards the stones. This route looked more reliable.
Я швиденько вибралась повище на твердіший берег. Кросівки наче в порядку, ноги теж. Вирішили трошки пройтися берегом у бік каміння. Цей маршрут виглядав надійнішим.
From a distance, these sticks sticking out of the water seemed to me like the ones fishermen install to put a fishing rod on. It turned out that they were used to measure the height of the water rise.
Здалека ці палички, що стирчать із води, здались мені схожими на ті, які ставлять рибалки, щоб покласти на них вудку. Виявилось, що вони для заміру висоти підняття води.
I kept wondering at the incredible, unnatural (or just unusual?) shades of water, from yellow to red, purple and then blue. It was very interesting (and still is) what gives the water that color. I hope not radioactive waste. There used to be secret missile mines in these places. And still are, I think ...
Я не переставала дивуватись неймовірним, неприродним (чи просто незвичним?) відтінкам води, від жовтого, до червоного, фіолетового і синього. Було дуже цікаво (і досі цікаво), що надає воді такого кольору. Сподіваюсь, що не радіоактивні відходи. Колись у цих місцях були секретні ракетні шахти. І досі є, я думаю...

Sometimes it felt like we had found water on Mars.
Одним словом, було таке відчуття, що ми знайшли воду на Марсі :D
Near the shore it looks like ordinary water, and a little further there is a mysterious eye catching dark red abyss...
Біля берега начебто звичайна вода, а трошки далі яксь загадкова темно-червона безодня, від якої неможливо відірвати погляд...

And we went back. When suddenly I heard a strange rumble, and then ...
І ми пішли назад. Як раптом почули дивний гул, а потім...
Water came out of the pipe! From the pipe under which I stood about 5 minutes ago. I'm still scared when I look at that silly selfie. And knowing that I can't swim, and remembering how easily my feet sink into this sand.
It gives me goose pimples, whe I picture a beautiful place I could drown in. Kidding. Or not.
З труби полилась вода! З тієї труби, під якою я стояла якихось 5 хвилин тому. Мені досі моторошно, коли я дивлюсь на оте селфі. А ще знаючи, що я не вмію плавати, і пам"ятаючи, як легко ноги погрузають у цей пісок.
Досі мурашки по шкірі від думки, у якому красивому місці я могла втопитись.
After such a shock, I hurried back to my usual reality. We left Mars asap. And when I went down to the car, I noticed in a distance where the water was coming from.
Після такого шоку мені захотілося скоріше назад у звичну реальність. Ми якнайшвидше покинули Марс. А коли спускались вниз до авто, то побачили, звідки йшла вода. Її закачували сюди ось звідси:
That's it, a marvelous place. I walked away without a scratch but now you know why I wouldn't return there, never. Now I will not want to go where it is forbidden to go for a long time.
Oh, by the way, the lake we looked for was in about 200 meters from the place where we stopped the car. I will show it next time ;o)
Таке ось незвичне місце. Добре, що все закінчилося щасливо. Тепер мені ще довго не захочеться йти туди, куди ходити заборонено. До речі. це було не те озеро, яке ми шукали. Його я покажу наступного разу!
