Special greetings to all my friends at #Hive. In this second publication it is my pleasure to write to you. I must thank you all for your warm welcome when I first arrived in this community. I know that I still can't interact with you in the comments of the posts, but soon I hope to be able to do it with the same enthusiasm and affection that you all do.

As you know, I live in Venezuela in a small city called Cumaná. It is a city with a beautiful coast that gives us beautiful sunsets, with rich beaches and a unique warmth. Then I could share with you some pictures. I have all my life living here in Cumaná. When I walk or go by bus through the city I like to observe carefully the places or areas where I walk. I do not say that Cumana is a metropolis or a modern city, however the sense of belonging that I have towards it is such, that when I have had the opportunity to travel to other states and even outside the country, and then return, the feeling of being back in it is like when you are at home and you feel comfortable and like a fish in water. I love Cumana. I regret its weaknesses and admire its strengths.

Recently, while I was on my way to run an errand, observing through the car window, as I like to do, I noticed an act that I consider to have become a historical act, not because it was a heroic act, but on the contrary. Right in the center of the city, in the historical center, the hand of a man mutilated without contemplation an almond tree, which for the people of Cumana, without a doubt, was more than an almond tree.

My eyes were fixed in the direction of that event that made history. A tree that with more than 100 years of history, no Cumanese could pass it unnoticed. Generations passed in front of that almond tree, generations received the shade of that tree waiting for a bus or a relative with a car to come and pick them up. Not to mention the birds that took refuge in it and the countrymen who took its fruits to satisfy a craving.

That tree went down in history and in the memory of the settlers; and with it, it lost its functions, it involuntarily died. I am sure I was not the only one who was shocked by what was happening before the eyes of hundreds of people in the middle of a busy public road.

I remained in the car, but my mind stayed with what I had just seen. The city was in mourning. In fact, when I got home, I saw on social networks the claims of the people. The indignation of many who could not remain silent. They raised their voices, called attention to the situation and even planned a protest parade against the death of the almond tree.

As if it were a murder, the fact will perhaps be treated as if it were a murder. treated. We have laws that penalize the cutting of public trees. Undoubtedly, there was an intellectual author, perhaps one who gave the order and others who executed it; one with greater responsibility than the other, but in the end they all end up being guilty.

Those who indolently mutilated that tree had no idea what they were doing. Perhaps it is worth the expression of the Lord Christ when being outraged and mistreated to be crucified he said: "forgive them for they know not what they do". They do not know how many they took away shade, they do not know how many they took away a point of reference, they do not know how many they took away the fresh breeze that blew through there, they do not know how many birds they took away their shelter, they do not know how much oxygen they took away from the city.

Tomorrow, probably, when I pass by there, while observing and contemplating my city, maybe I will see an awning in replacement of that almond tree that, as I said, was more than an almond tree.

As a way of reflection I have brought you this story. I will be satisfied just thinking that it may be of motivation for all of us not to see nature as mere trunks or stems, branches or leaves; let us admire its benefits and thank the Creator who blesses us with it. Creation is a sign that directs our gaze to the Creator. See you soon for a future opportunity. Thank you very much.

Muchas gracias.
