Edificios históricos convertidos en tiendas // Historic buildings converted into shops

Cuando se pasea por los centros históricos de las grandes ciudades podemos disfrutar de edificios y palacios donde muchos de ellos pertenecen a familias con títulos nobiliarios. Con el paso del tiempo las fortunas de las familias se han ido dividiendo entre los descendientes llegando a un punto que las propiedades son más un gasto por los impuestos y mantenimiento donde la venta de ellas se hace necesaria.

En la calle larga, en el centro de Jerez de la Frontera se encuentra un palacio que no pasa desapercibido. Fue la casa palacio del Marqués de Villamarta.

When strolling through the historic centres of large cities we can enjoy buildings and palaces where many of them belong to families with noble titles. With the passing of time the fortunes of the families have been divided among the descendants, reaching a point where the properties are more of an expense due to taxes and maintenance and where the sale of them becomes necessary.

In the calle larga, in the centre of Jerez de la Frontera, there is a palace that does not go unnoticed. It was the palace of the Marquis of Villamarta.

El edificio está construido de roca ostionera muy utilizada en Cádiz y alrededores. Su gran portón, las rejas de forja decoradas con el escudo de la familia que también lo encontramos en la fachada, nos llama la atención.

The building is made of oyster rock, which is very common in Cádiz and the surrounding area. Its large gate, the wrought iron grilles decorated with the family coat of arms, which can also be found on the façade, catch our attention.

Actualmente pertenece a una famosa cadena de perfumería. La propiedad fue vendida a una multinacional textil y ahora puedes entrar en el palacio, admirar el interior de lo que fue el hogar de una familia noble de la reconquista y comprar el perfume que más te guste.

Nowadays it belongs to a famous perfumery chain. The property was sold to a multinational textile company and now you can enter the palace, admire the interior of what was once the home of a noble family from the Reconquest and buy the perfume you like best.
