Visite un ancianato y esto fue lo que hicimos con los abuelos 👴👵 // I visited a nursing home and this is what we did with the grandparents 👴👵

En esta oportunidad les voy a hablar de lo que fue mi visita al ancianato todo esto debido al servicio comunitario de mi universidad, solo debo aclarar que realmente más que felicidad pude hacer una reflexión de lo que es la vida y como debemos tratar a nuestros padres o a quienes nos han criado, no me gusto para nada verlos allí.. Quizá para algunos les agradara el hecho de estar en un sitio rodeado de gente de edades similares y poder charlar entre ellos, pero créanme que para muchos es preferible estar fuera de allí en sus casas, con sus mascotas, con sus plantas, con su libertad. Es la demostración de lo que sería un zoológico para otro animal, una analogía que no está lejos de la realidad.

Tengo que decir que anteriormente ya había estado en un ancianato y fue una visita donde pude apreciar cosas que pasaban en esta nueva residencia para personas mayores. Pude observar ancianos queriendo de alguna u otra forma convencerte para que los sacaras de allí, ancianos que inventaban una excusa para poder llegar a sus antiguas casas aunque que también habían personas que con mucho interés te contaban las cosas que pasaron en sus vidas y te hacia recordar lo importante que era disfrutar los pequeños momentos que te da la vida y vivirlos al maximo.

Hello to all the Hivers!

In this opportunity I am going to talk to you about my visit to the old people's home, all this due to the community service of my university, I only have to clarify that really more than happiness I could make a reflection of what life is and how we should treat our parents or those who have raised us, I did not like at all to see them there. Maybe for some people it would be nice to be in a place surrounded by people of similar ages and to be able to chat among them, but believe me that for many it is preferable to be out there in their homes, with their pets, with their plants, with their freedom. It is the demonstration of what a zoo would be for another animal, an analogy that is not far from reality.

I have to say that previously I had been in an old people's home and it was a visit where I was able to appreciate things that were happening in this new home for the elderly. I was able to observe old people wanting in one way or another to convince you to take them out of there, old people who invented an excuse to be able to get to their old homes although there were also people who were very interested in telling you about the things that happened in their lives and made you remember how important it was to enjoy the little moments that life gives you and live them to the fullest.

Actividades dinámicas con los abuelos

Hicimos varias actividades con los abuelos jugamos dominó, hicimos juegos de adivinanzas y eso sí, premiando con ropa a los que respondían de forma correcta. Ejercitando sus cerebros más que todo, también pudimos hablar un rato con ellos y nos contaron anécdotas de sus vidas, y de cómo habían llegado al ancianato. En las fotos que coloque podrán observar que le pedimos a los abuelos que nos dijeran su nombre, edad y algún consejo que les recomendarían a los más jóvenes y entre una de las respuestas que recibimos fue: vivir intensamente porque la vida es muy corta, no la desperdicies. Sus palabras me marcaron porque nos enseña que por más que tengamos malos días, hay que tomarlos como parte de la vida y de nuestro aprendizaje. Recuerden vivir los días como nunca y apreciar todo lo que tenemos, esforzarse para alcanzar nuestras metas día tras día, seguir insistiendo para al final poder decir que vivimos todo lo que queríamos vivir.

Dynamic activities with grandparents

We did several activities with the grandparents, played dominoes, made guessing games, and rewarded those who responded correctly with clothes. Exercising their brains more than anything else, we were also able to talk to them for a while and they told us anecdotes about their lives and how they had come to the old people's home. In the pictures you can see that we asked the grandparents to tell us their name, age and some advice they would recommend to the youngest ones and among the answers we received was: live intensely because life is very short, do not waste it. Their words marked me because they teach us that even though we have bad days, we must take them as part of life and of our learning. Remember to live the days like never before and appreciate everything we have, strive to achieve our goals day after day, keep insisting so that in the end we can say that we lived everything we wanted to live.
