Navegando por #hive descubrí la nueva comunidad de @holos-lotus y su gran iniciativa para darse a conocer, en la que nos invitan a crear nuestros propios mandalas de bienestar.
Me gustan muchos todos los desafíos creativos y este me llamó en especial la atención porque requería pintar, llenarnos de color y meditar en todo el proceso de creación.
La verdad es que tenía muchos días queriendo hacer algo de arte, pero mis ánimos han estado un poco decaídos por diversos problemas en casa y no me motivaba a hacerlo.
Para quienes no lo sepan, las Mandalas tienen una finalidad muy especial, conectarnos con nuestro propio ser y canalizar todas estas energías que tengamos acumuladas (sean buenas o malas) a través de sus trazos, lo que me caía como anillo al dedo porque era mucha la tensión acumulada debía encontrar la manera que todo fluyera.
Les cuento un poco todo el proceso de creación de mi mandala a continuación...

Navigating #hive I discovered the new @ holos-lotus community and their great initiative to make themselves known, in which they invite us to create our own wellness mandalas.
I really like all creative challenges and this one caught my attention because it required painting, filling us with color and meditating on the entire creation process.
The truth is that I had wanted to do some art for many days, but my spirits have been a bit down due to various problems at home and it did not motivate me to do it.
For those who do not know, Mandalas have a very special purpose, to connect with our own being and to channel all these energies that we have accumulated (be they good or bad) through their strokes, which suited me like a glove because it was a lot of the accumulated tension had to find a way for everything to flow.

La primera idea que me vino a la mente fue buscar un diseño en internet e inspirarme en él, pero nada se parecía a lo que quería, así que aventuré y me deje llevar por mis instintos.
Para este reto decidí utilizar tizas pasteles, amo esos colores vibrantes y tenía bastante tiempo queriendo hacer algún proyecto con ellas.
De base utilicé una tabla que había pintado previamente con pintura negra para que mi hijo la utilizara de pizarra, pero como estaba arrumada en una esquina, le he dado un mejor uso.
No quería hacer la típica mandala redonda porque el espacio era rectangular, así que opté por hacerla a la mitad. Tracé con tiza blanca los arcos guía de cada sección o capa de la mandala. Acá estaba lista y emocionada por comenzar a agregar los colores.
The first idea that came to my mind was to look for a design on the internet and get inspired by it, but nothing resembled what I wanted, so I ventured and let myself be carried away by my instincts.
For this challenge I decided to use pastel chalks, I love those vibrant colors and I had wanted to do a project with them for a long time.
As a base I used a board that I had previously painted with black paint so that my son could use it as a blackboard, but since it was tucked in a corner, I have given it a better use.
I didn't want to do the typical round mandala because the space was rectangular, so I opted to do it in half. I traced the guiding arcs for each section or layer of the mandala with white chalk. Here I was ready and excited to start adding the colors.
Las mandalas llevan muchas capas de colores, como se trataba de tizas quise hacer la base en colores difuminados para luego darle los detalles en color blanco.
Me gusta mucho degradar los colores, por eso cada capa tiene un degradado distinto, iniciando por el centro en tonos cálidos.
The mandalas have many layers of colors, as it was chalk I wanted to make the base in blurred colors and then give it the details in white.
I really like to degrade colors, that's why each layer has a different gradient, starting in the center in warm tones.
Los colores los fui agregando haciendo líneas con la tiza en forma horizontal, lo que me permitía abarcar más espacio con menor esfuerzo.
Todo sin un orden en específico, solo fui metiendo mi mano en la caja de tizas y dejando que los colores decidieran por mí.
The colors were added by making horizontal lines with the chalk, which allowed me to cover more space with less effort.
All in no specific order, I just put my hand in the box of chalk and let the colors decide for me.
Una vez estuvieron todos los colores listos, he comenzado a difuminar cada uno de ellos con mis dedos, este momento fue bastante gratificante, pues hacer arte sin ensuciarse no es hacer arte. 😂
Poco a poco fui dando los degradados que quería y dejando todo listo para comenzar con los detalles.
Once all the colors were ready, I began to blur each of them with my fingers, this moment was quite gratifying, because making art without getting dirty is not making art. 😂
Little by little I was giving the gradients I wanted and leaving everything ready to start with the details.
Ya he hecho mandalas antes, y unas de las formas que más me gustan son las de pétalos y hojas. Estos detalles como les comenté anteriormente, los hice con una tiza en color blanco. Siempre haciendo contraste en zonas más pintadas y otras con más líneas y detalles, y aunque todo debía ser lo más parejo posible los trazos no fueron perfectos, pero hasta este punto me gustaba bastante lo que iba. ♥
I've done mandalas before, and some of the shapes that I like the most are the petals and leaves. These details as I mentioned before, I made them with a white chalk. Always making contrast in more painted areas and others with more lines and details, and although everything had to be as even as possible the lines were not perfect, but up to this point I quite liked what was going. ♥
La tiza negra me ayudó a darle aun más profundidad al diseño, pero no exageré con ella, solo en ciertos detalles.
Aquí podria decir que estaba lista pero se me ocurrió hacer algunas líneas de color en las capas para dar ese toque final.
The black chalk helped give the design even more depth, but I didn't go overboard with it, just in certain details.
Here I could say that I was ready but it occurred to me to make some lines of color in the layers to give that final touch.
Y así terminé mi obra, aquí estaba toda llena de tizas pero felíz por el resultado.
Todo el proceso de creación fue bastante relajante y liberador, me ayudó a darle un toque de color a mi vida en medio de tanto caos y un segundo aire para seguir adelante.
Una de las razones por las que he estado un tanto desanimada es que mis post no han recibido tanto apoyo como esperaba y creanme que uno siente un pequeño bajón cuando nadie valora ese esfuerzo que diste al hacerlo.
Pero como dice mi esposo, a veces hay tiempos buenos, otros malos pero siempre logramos salir a flote nuevamente.
Entendí que a lo mejor la vida me estaba dando una especie de señal y quería esto, que empapara mis manos con arte y siguiera mostrando al mundo de lo que soy capaz y llenando cada rinconcito que pueda de color.
Hoy les muestro orgullosa mi obra a ustedes y todos mis conocidos, y estoy más animada que nunca a continuar haciendo arte para todos. ♥
Estoy viendo la manera de conservar esta obra sin que se deteriore (porque es tiza y con el tiempo puede llegar a borrarse con cualquier contacto externo). Ya veré como me las ingenio.

And so I finished my work, here it was all full of chalk but happy with the result.
The whole creation process was quite relaxing and liberating, it helped me add a touch of color to my life in the midst of so much chaos and a second wind to move on.
One of the reasons why I have been somewhat discouraged is that my posts have not received as much support as I expected and believe me that one feels a little slump when no one values the effort you put into doing it.
But as my husband says, sometimes there are good times, sometimes bad times, but we always manage to float again.
I understood that maybe life was giving me a kind of signal and I wanted this, to soak my hands with art and continue to show the world what I am capable of and fill every little corner that I can with color.
Today I proudly show my work to you and everyone I know, and I am more encouraged than ever to continue making art for everyone. ♥
I am looking at a way to preserve this work without deteriorating (because it is chalk and over time it can be erased with any external contact). I'll see how I manage.
