Amakan: Bamboo Walling with Design

Bamboo has been a very big help in the Philippines, it can be used in almost all of the needs in the house. From chairs and tables to walling and flooring and even the roofing. Thank God Phillipines is a tropical country and we were not affected with heavy snows and ice or very light materials like bamboo will never do as a home. So here is my friend, Michael, he is doing what we call amakan locally. It measures 8x4feet and it could be a good substitute to plywoods.

This is done by making the bamboo into one inch wide should be very thin so it will be easier to interlock the pieces.

Getting into the last prt is the hardest because the ends are getting hard.

The start up process is hard too. The pieces will fall of when one does not really know how to do it properly.

These were the prepared pieces of bamboos. He did it so he can save time.

My friend has got a good talent and he used it to make a living. He has a small shop beside the highway where he can display his creation to make many passer by impressed. It is beside the river too, where bamboos grow healthy and tall.

I have wished I can have his talent too but such is life, I guess this is not my part of it.

Thank you for reading and good day.
