Hello Hive friends 😃! I hope you are very well today, greetings from Argentina ⭐️. This time I want to share with you this sewing project that I did for the HiveDIY community contest , where we are proposed to make a garment for a small doll. It is about this pink dress with lace ruffles that I made for my cute little doll ❤️.

¡Hola amigos de Hive 😃! Espero que se encuentren muy bien hoy, saludos desde Argentina ⭐️. En esta oportunidad quiero compartir con ustedes este proyecto de costura que realicé para el concurso de la comunidad HiveDIY, en donde se nos propone realizar una prenda para un pequeño muñeco. Se trata de este vestido rosa con volados de encaje que realicé para mi linda muñequita ❤️.

I love sewing and creating clothes for my doll. To make this project I used this pink lace that I had saved for a long time. While I usually reserve lace fabrics for my lingerie projects, I don't like this particular color for a garment for me but it occurred to me that it would look very cute in an outfit for her. So it was ❤️!

Me encanta coser y crear prendas para mi muñeca. Para hacer este proyecto utilicé este encaje rosa que tenía guardado hace tiempo. Si bien suelo reservarme las telas de encaje para mis proyectos de lencería, este color en particular no me gusta para una prenda para mí pero se me ocurrió que quedaría muy lindo en un atuendo para ella. ¡Y así fue ❤️!

To make this dress, I used a top mold obtained here and a circular skirt mold drawn with my wrist measurements following this tutorial . The good thing about drawing your own molds is that it lets you know where the measurements come from and you can scale them to any size, even one as small as this one 😃.

Para hacer este vestido, utilicé un molde de pechera con pinzas obtenido aquí y un molde de falda circular dibujado con las medidas de mi muñeca siguiendo este tutorial. Lo bueno de dibujar tus propios moldes es que te permite saber de donde vienen las medidas y los podes escalar a cualquier tamaño, incluso a uno tan pequeño como este ❤️.

The pieces needed to made this dress were the following: two pieces for the front, one made of lace and one of lycra fabric, a circular piece for the skirt and lace straps for the ruffles.

Las piezas necesarias para armar este vestido fueron las siguientes: dos piezas para la pechera, una de encaje y una de tela de lycra, una pieza circular para la falda y tiras de encaje para los volados.

First we start with the bib: we face the rights and sew and then flip the garment and have a neat upper edge. As the lace is transparent, it is necessary to add double fabric, we do not want our model to show anything 😂.

Primero empezamos con la pechera: enfrentamos los derechos y cosemos para luego voltear la prenda y tener un borde superior prolijo. Como el encaje es transparente es necesario añadir doble tela, no queremos que se le vea nada a nuestra modelo 😂.

The next step is to sew the darts. This will give the dress a better fit and will mark the waist of the doll. This is how it looks 😃.

El paso siguiente es coser las pinzas. Esto le dará un mejor ajuste al vestido y marcará la cintura de la muñeca. Así es como queda 😃.

Then we continue with the skirt. To form the ruffle we have to fold the fabric as we sew. This step requires a lot of patience to complete the entire outline of the dress ❤️.

Luego continuamos con la falda. Para formar el volado tenemos que ir doblando la tela a medida que cosemos. Este paso requiere bastante paciencia para completar todo el contorno del vestido ❤️.

To add more glamor, I added a second row of ruffles. And again I armed myself with patience hahaha. This took a long time because in the middle I ran out of fabric strips and had to cut more. Ruffling consumes too much fabric, but the end result is worth it ❤️.

Para añadir más glamour, agregué una segunda fila de volados. Y otra vez me armé de paciencia jajaja. Hacer esto me llevó bastante tiempo porque en medio me quedé sin tiras de tela y tuve que cortar más. Hacer volados consume demasiada tela pero el resultado final vale la pena ❤️.

Finally, this is what the skirt looks like. Really beautiful and delicate ❤️.

Finalmente, así luce la falda. Realmente hermosa y delicada ❤️.

Next, the crucial step in assembling a doll dress: joining the bib and skirt. This always makes me sweat because the sewing space is so small, but guess what? with PATIENCE you can sew it well 😂😂😂😂😂.

A continuación, el paso crucial en el ensamblado de un vestido de muñeca: unir la pechera y la falda. Esto siempre me hace sudar porque el espacio de costura es muy pequeño, ¿pero adivinen que? con PACIENCIA lo podes coser bien 😂😂😂😂😂.

Finally, we put a velcro on the back and close the dress by sewing the entire back 😃.

Por último, colocamos un velcro en la parte de la espalda y cerramos el vestido cosiendo toda la parte de atrás 😃.

I love doing this type of project because I love sewing and seeing my doll in a new outfit always fills me with happiness. This dress will be a gift for my goddaughter: she also likes dolls as much as I do ❤️.

Hacer este tipo de proyectos me encanta porque amo coser y ver a mi muñeca con un atuendo nuevo siempre me llena de felicidad. Este vestido será un obsequio para mi ahijada: a ella también le gustan las muñecas tanto como a mí ❤️.
