Very good morning my dear readers, Happy Friday to all and I hope you have had an excellent and profitable week, today I want to share with you a new Viking style work, in this case it is about Falavis, the Razor Fist and is a young Viking Warrior from the highlands of Norway, many years ago he was banished after losing in combat with another Viking which left him badly wounded, almost on the verge of death, he was rescued by his sister who took him far away to heal his terrible wounds; That happened about 5 years ago and the time has come for our young warrior to return to his land in search of recovering his honor and his name as one of the fiercest Vikings. In this post I want to show you a little bit of the process of how I made this work and I hope you like it:
Muy buen día mis queridos lectores, Feliz Viernes para todos y espero hayan tendido una excelente y provechosa semana, el día de hoy quiero compartirles una nueva obra al estilo Vikingo, en este caso se trata de Falavis, el Puño de navaja y es un joven Guerrero Vikingo proveniente de las tierras altas de Noruega, hace muchos años fue desterrado luego de haber perdido en combate con otro Vikingo el cual lo dejo muy mal herido, casi al borde de la muerte, fue rescatado por su hermana la cual lo llevo muy lejos para curar sus terribles heridas; eso ocurrió hace aproximadamente 5 años atrás y ha llegado el momento en que nuestro joven Guerrero regrese a su tierra en busca de lograr recuperar su honor y su nombre como uno de los Vikingos más feroces. En este post quiero enseñarles un poco del proceso de cómo hice esta obra y espero les guste:
PROCESS / PROCESO
I took my time to build a character that represented well the story I have created for this Viking, my idea was to make the character in a way that he looked thoughtful and retrospective and I think I achieved it, once I finished the main sketch I started to build a good outline that would facilitate the painting later; the colors I chose for my character were quite opaque tones because I wanted to work them in several layers later, especially the section of the skin.
Me tome mi tiempo para construir un personaje que representara bien la historia que he creado para este Vikingo, mi idea era de hacer el personaje de una manera en que se viera medio pensativo y retrospectivo y creo que lo logre, una vez termine el boceto principal allí si comencé a construir un buen delineado que me facilitara el pintado más adelante; los colores que elegí para mi personaje fueron tonos bastante opacos pues quería trabajarlos en varias capas más adelante, sobretodo el apartado de la piel.
Once I established the primary color of the skin then I proceeded with the application of the details that would give volume and realism to Falavis, I gradually achieved that volume in the face and muscles of Viking and then I focused a little on giving good painting to the details of the face as the eye, nose, cheekbone and others, to the eyes I gave a bright yellowish tone mixed with various shades of orange.
Una vez establecí el color primario de la piel luego proseguí con la aplicación de los detalles que le dieran volumen y realismo a Falavis, fui poco a poco logrando ese volumen en el rostro y los músculos de Vikingo y luego me enfoque un poco en darle buen pintado a los detalles del rostro como los ojo, nariz, pómulo y demás, a los ojos le di una tonalidad medio amarillenta brillante mezclada con varios tonos de naranja.
After having finished with the base structure of the skin painting I continued with the painting of our Viking's clothing, I decided to paint a kind of leather pants in a dark brown tone, then layer by layer I gave the leather texture not only to the pants but also to the forearm bracelets ; after finishing with Falavis's clothing the next thing I focused on was to give a good look to the hair, I decided to use yellow tones to give a blond look to the Viking's hair, then I was adding deep lines with very dark and intense yellows, then little by little I was detailing the strands of hair with the watercolor brush in a quite small size to make them as thin as possible.
Luego de haber terminado con la estructura base del pintado de la piel pues proseguí con el pintado de la vestimenta de nuestro Vikingo, decidí pintarle una especie de pantalón de piel de cuero en tonalidad marrón oscuro, luego capa por capa le fue dando la textura de cuero no solamente al pantalón sino también a los brazaletes del antebrazo ; luego de haber terminado con la indumentaria de Falavis lo siguiente en lo que me enfoque fue en darle una buena apariencia al pelo, me anime a usar tonos amarillos para darle una apariencia rubia a la cabellera del Vikingo, luego fui añadiendo líneas de profundidad con amarillos muy oscuros e intensos, luego poco a poco fui detallando los mechones de cabello con el pince acuarela en un tamaño bastante pequeño para hacerlos lo más delgados posible.
Finally I focused on creating a good scenery for this work, as I said before I wanted to convey a pensive look for our Viking and that's why I encouraged myself to do it in front of a kind of bonfire or campfire while remembering his past, his previous life and what he had to do to recover it, so first I established a kind of flames in yellow and red tones, then I applied the layer mode (SHINE) and lowered a little the opacity to make the flames of the fire look a little more realistic, finally I added some high glows to the fire and finally to the skin to make it look illuminated by the fire.
Ya por ultimo me centre en crear un buen escenario para esta obra, como dije antes quería transmitir una apariencia pensativa para nuestro Vikingo y es por ello que me anime a hacerlo frente a una especie de hoguera o fogata mientras recordaba su pasado, su vida anterior y lo que debía hacer para recuperarla, así que primero establecí una especies de llamaradas en tonalidades amarilla y roja, luego aplique el modo de capa (SHINE) y le baje un poco la opacidad para hace ver las llamas del fuego un poco más realistas, por ultimo añadí algunos brillos altos al fuego y por último a la piel para que se viera iluminada por el fuego.
